Man today's episode was really good for Kurata's character. Watching him be mired with doubt after hearig Hanezaki's performance, being reminded of all the times he's failed was painful. And man, not even standing up to people disrespecting the koto too, just laughing it off and bottling up his emotions hurt. And his gloomy mood was just ruining the atmosphere of the club too, leaving everyone feel directionless since the club president wasnt confident in their chances at nationals. And whats worse is that Kurata feels like he cant confide in the team about his issues, feelign like as club president and upperclassman he musst shoulder all the burden on his own. Im glad Kurusu stepped up and chose to shoulder some of the burden by becomign VP, she's slowly becoming someone who I like as a character and Im glad she's now honest about wanting to join the koto club to experience the joy of a koto ensemble, w/ everyone helping eachother out. Also, man I respect Chika's character, with him sticking up for Kurata as those old friends of Kurata belittled koto. And man I hated seeing Chika and Kurata fight, I mean Kurata was one of the first ppl to put their trust into Kudo and stick up for him and Chika just wanted to stick up for someone he cared about, watching a deep relationship like that start tearing apart was painful. Though im glad that, after Kurata starting sticking up and defending the koto club he's passionate about, after realizing once again how valuable it is (thanks to Kurusu), he made up with Chika. And now, its looking like Kurata, although doubtful, is ready to aim for nationals with everyone. Also, Takinami is becoming surprisingly likeable as the club advisor.
