Mostly going off the fan wiki and interviews - still debating whether (and if so, when) to fit in things like the Deadpool movie.
If it's running more or less parallel (this primarily applies to Netflix series) I tend to fit it in before the corresponding Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. episodes, not least because I generally prefer the Netflix output to AoS.

Last updated June 2021.
As for Loki, it does split off into an alternative timeline post Avengers, but I'm adding it just after Endgame (for now) to account for possible timey-wimey shenanigans.

This is a list with episodes of various Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) TV series as well as films in internal chronological order, according to this list by MythBank: https://mythbank.com/marvel-cinematic-universe-timeline/

DC aficionado too? Why, have a gander at my Trakt port of a list for all DC Cinematic Universe films and TV-series in chronological order: https://trakt.tv/users/nidunc/lists/dc-cinematic-multiverse-viewing-order-according-to-thecomicboard-com-members?sort=rank,asc

Unlike ‘my’ two Arrowverse lists on here, I’ve chosen not to include whole seasons, but only the episodes themselves, to maintain consistency throughout this list.
This is also to maximise compatibility with any third-party tools that interpret Trakt.tv lists.

I might choose to adapt my Arrowverse lists to this format as well in the future.

Up-to-date as of the 24th of July 2022 (with exceptions, see below). This description still has to be updated, as does the changelog. I don’t know when I’ll get around to that.

Not included

  • All the comics and graphic novels (obviously)
  • Captain Marvel (2019) (will be added to this list once it’s been released and its position in the timeline is certain)
    • Captain Marvel has been released; added on the 6th of May 2019.
  • Other films and episodes that haven’t come out / aired yet (such as Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019))
  • Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.: Slingshot (between Captain America: Civil War and AoS 4x01)
    • Added on the 2nd of February 2018
  • Marvel’s Inhumans 1x01 onwards (will add those episodes and films to this list once they’ve been released and their position in the timeline is certain)
    • Marvel’s Inhumans has premiered and is now included in the viewing order.
  • The Stark Expo videos.
    • Those should be seen between Iron Man (2008) and The Incredible Hulk (2008) and can supposedly be watched at https://www.facebook.com/StarkExpo/, but I can’t find the actual videos there.
    • Some videos can be watched here, though: https://www.reddit.com/5cs17x.

The changelog of this list was moved to the comments on 2021-01-02 and is now being maintained there

Guide to watching The Avengers movies in storyline order.

1

The viewing order as seen on CNET with some additions:
https://www.cnet.com/how-to/marvel-cinematic-universe-timeline-avengers/

Comments are welcome in order to make this list the most accurate possible.

• The Incredible Hulk is not mandatory as the main actor changed and nothing much happens within the movie about the rest of the timeline.

• For Daredevil, Jessica Jones and Luke Cage; As Netflix Originals these can be slotted in at will. Here they are placed roughly by when they were released (as said by CNET). This order seems to fit pretty well with the rest of MCU timeline. For their own viewing order it has to be the following: Daredevil Season 1, Jessica Jones Season 1, Daredevil Season 2, Luke Cage Season 1.

• Marvel's Cloak and Dagger, Iron Fist, The Defenders and the Punisher will be added when infos about it will be available.

THIS LIST WILL BE UPDATED PERIODICALLY. (Last update: 2016-12-23)

The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) is an American media franchise and shared universe that is centered on a series of superhero films, independently produced by Marvel Studios and based on characters that appear in publications by Marvel Comics. The franchise has expanded to include comic books, short films, television series and digital series. The shared universe, much like the original Marvel Universe in comic books, was established by crossing over common plot elements, settings, cast, and characters. Clark Gregg has appeared the most in the franchise, portraying Phil Coulson, a character original to the MCU.

The first film released in the MCU was Iron Man (2008), which began the first phase of films culminating in the crossover film Marvel's The Avengers (2012). Phase Two began with Iron Man 3 (2013), and concluded with Ant-Man (2015). The films are currently in Phase Three, which began with the release of Captain America: Civil War (2016). Marvel Television expanded the universe further, first to network television with Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. on ABC in the 2013–14 television season, followed by online streaming with Marvel's Daredevil on Netflix in 2015, and then to cable television with Marvel's Cloak and Dagger, which is scheduled to air in 2018 on Freeform. Soundtrack albums have been released for all of the films, along with many of television series, as well as the release of compilation albums containing existing music heard in the films. The MCU also includes tie-in comics published by Marvel Comics, while Marvel Studios has also produced a series of direct-to-video short films, a viral marketing campaign for its films and the universe with the faux news program WHIH Newsfront, and a digital series Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.: Slingshot, a supplement to Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

The franchise has been commercially successful as a multimedia shared universe, though some critics have found that some of its films and television series have suffered in service of the wider universe. It has inspired other film and television studios with comic book character adaptation rights to attempt to create similar shared universes. The MCU has also been the focus of other media, outside of the shared universe, including attractions at Disneyland and Discovery Times Square, two television specials, guidebooks for each film, a Lego video game, and a commercial with Coca-Cola.

Marvel movies and TV shows in chronological order.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe, including movies, tie-in TV shows, and One-Offs, in fictional chronological order. The post-credit scenes in "Captain America", "Captain Marvel", and "Black Widow" have spoilers and should be watched in Release Order (after "Thor" & before "The Avengers", after "Ant-Man and the Wasp" & before "Avengers: Endgame", and after "The Falcon and the Winter Soldier" & before "Hawkeye", respectively) instead of chronologically. I gave some wide margins of error on those boundaries, so that one would be able to fit in watching the post-credit scenes.
