"Love is the perfect prison."
The great premiere is followed by more of the same emotional tone but this time, is centered around Wilson Fisk. Fisk is just such an astonishing character and Vincent D'Onofrio really knocks it out the park, and in this episode especially. As far as I can remember, we haven't had this Wilson Fisk in the show before. He's an emotional wreck and is not the brutal lump of rage like he was in season 1, as told in a rather literal sense in the opening scene, where he is attacked with a knife and nearly murders the attacker, but then leaves him alive after some thought. The violent Fisk was obviously great and iconic but I really like this change. That's not to say he will be like this all season though; I'm sure he will be back to his murderous ways in no time, but I'm more than happy with the Fisk we have at the moment.
This episode also saw Matt slowly returning to Daredevil, but without the faith this time. It also took a nosedive into Foggy's life and his relationship with his family, which was my second favourite part of this episode (behind Fisk's car monologue).
Not quite as effective as the premiere, but still a really good episode where Vincent D'Onofrio shines.
Who the hell was that man who save Fisk?? He was a freaking killer.
OMG!! I love Foggy's family, is huge like mine. They all look a like.
So far so good. I like badass Matt.
It's a pretty standard slow struggle/getting back to normal for Matt.
Fisk gave huge info, but we can assume he's only eliminating his competition.
Fisk's big speech about love was way too much. Yeah we got it, he's a huge asshole, murdering psychopath, pure ball of violence, BUT he's still able to experience genuine love. That's the gimmick, we've seen it before. It's well acted and all, but still felt forced. And they also insisted on his change with the way he doesn't kill his aggressor. But that was also very forced. I didn't see FIsk's change. All I heard in my head were the writers screaming "LOOK HOW HE CHANGED! LOOK AT IT! LOOK!"
Wow at the super cop that save him at the end. We're even beyond Frank Castle level here. And so I'll bet he'll become the bad guy.
Please get better season 2 sould say the title so fram so bad XD
Starting things up, to see what is next
Matt ends up back at the church following his late night fight where those guys put an innocent man in a coma. Matt looks into finding the specific cleaners that attacked this man. He finds them, fights them and then calls the cops. He goes to check on the man and his daughter and learns that he's out of his coma. Meanwhile, Karen is told to report on this man's condition and interviews the daughter. She tells Karen that the man who saved them was wearing a mask and she thinks it must be Matt. Foggy goes to a family party and Karen shows up to tell Foggy what she's learn but Foggy doesn't believe it's true. Ray makes plans for Fisk's to be out on house arrest and their transport convoy is intercepted by the Albanians with many casualties. Matt learns at the hospital that Fisk is out of prison.
Didn't like the young Matt. The actor was not good.
Is Karen already over killing Wesly or did the writers just forget about it.
Dialogues are very well written. and I liked this change in the character of Willson Fisk.
I thought it was the Punisher who saved Fisk's ass.
