Memphis Beat continues its southern style of crime fighting into a second 10-episode season. The show delves further into the characters as Dwight confronts the man who killed his father, Rice attempts to mend some of the broken relationships with her family, and Whitehead discovers a hidden secret about his childhood. The cases-of-the-week are also pretty interesting and features a good assortment of guest stars, including Danielle Panabaker, Jessica Collins, Garret Dillahunt, and Lance Henrikson. Yet as strong as the second season is, Memphis Beat was not to be and was soon cancelled by TNT.
