A little too large in scope and a little too experimental with it's direction, Season 2 of Mr. Robot feels like a wobble after the streamlined, well rounded delivery of Season 1. While I enjoyed the focus on the global consequences brought in by the actions of Season 1, I felt overall the increased scope only made everything feel too stretched out and watered down compared to the fully realised nature of the preceding season. Big moments feel almost lost in the web the show is trying to weave while rapidly expanding, all whilst pulling out the same "tricks" with Elliots mental state that come off a little hollow after they've already been used before. With all that negativity said, I still enjoyed this season, it just needs the fat trimmed and a tighter focus to hit the heights that were set by the first season. Playing the main mystery up until the literal last minute was very good, and I liked that some focus was given to the directly connected members of fsociety rather than it all being about Elliot. I have high hopes for Season 3 and 4 because I've heard nothing but good things, and many regard Season 2 as the low-point, so I'm excited to get cracking and see what everyone is raving about.
