that religious scene was so cringe - i hate when atheists make anti-religion speeches just to seem cool it’s so embarrassing. and as if any Christian who’s not openly racist would be like “you’re forgiven don’t worry ”. they just make up scenarios to be mad at
I can't put my finger on what is putting me off this season. I adored Season 1, it's such a comfy season of television and hits all the notes that I love; realistic hacking, mental health discussion, interpersonal drama and there's enough twists to keep every beat of the story engaging and surprising. Season 2 starts off with a few shocks, but I think the long form nature of the episodes and the complete step back from hacking and CompSec have kind of flattened one of the main appeals of the show. What do we have in its place? Trite anarchy? Greasey boardroom and fancy dinner conversations of the 1%? Maybe I'm being overly picky, but it's just not hitting like Season 1 did. I'll keep going, but I can't say my enthusiasm is as high as it was watching Season 1, even for the third time.
Classic story for the church meeting, but I like the end of the church meeting.
the religion speech was the best scene of ANY television show wow
HOLY MOTHER THE SCENE OF THE VOMIT THAT WAS INTENSE
so good (+3 extra words)
"i'm pretty sure i even found god" haha
fucking hell, some trigger warning for emetophobics maybe?.. no? okay.
Alexa (Amazon Echo) makes an appearance in that hot redhead's apartment.
She must to be an Amazon fan, with that Amazon Fire phone.
Of course, the show must've been sponsored by Amazon as it's available for streaming on Amazon Video.
The philosophical and metaphorical ramblings of these characters continue to be as interesting as ever. The plot is still lagging compared to season 1, but I feel it's going to pick up soon. Good episode.
Just when you think this shit's not gonna get crazier, it sneaks up on you.
The speech about religion is on point, pretty awesome.
Good bye Gideon. You deserved better.
So fuck god. He's not a good enough scapegoat for me.
That speech on religion felt generic. Like some teenager read Marx and now thinks he is the great religion critic, but i don't think it was a real message they wanted to deliver, but instead show how mad Elliott has gone after the Advil and sleep deprivation.
What i really, really love in this episode, and also in the episodes before is how they show how the hack affects the people. Ray talks to his wife about an allowance, we see people searching the trash and an opera singer singing in the subway. Specially the opera singer i liked, because the actor is a real life singer at the metropolitan opera in NYC, so there is a whole story how nobody goes to the opera anymore, so they had to lay him off etc. (or, that is what i imagined.)
Angelas plotline is awesome because she has absolutely no empathy left, and you can see her transformation to a corporate overlord. I enjoyed seeing more of Dominique DiPierro, how she is as a person and overall i think this episode sets a lot of thinks nicely up. I want to see more
Probably my favorite episode of the entire series so far. Everything about this one was brilliant. I love the opening.
Best episode yet! That cinematography.......I just want to eat it, its so beautiful!!! Absolutely love it
Amen adderall, amen!
now we have another crazy fella.
I think I liked this one more than the premiere episodes.
I just came up with a theory: Could Elliot have killed Tyrell the night of the hack, and now have him be part of his mind as well? Because why would Joanna miss the call in the precise moment - I see this as tangible proof that she didn't talk to him, only Elliot did. It's too early to tell and might sound silly in a couple of weeks (not to mention the fact that yet another twist like this could disappoint many people), but still, I wonder if that could happen. I've seen many comments online regarding Elliot possibly being Tyrell, but I think he might have been Tyrell only since the night of the hack.
I'm interested to see who Dominique plays out to become. Her character seems very odd. I wonder if she will become a crooked agent or what.
Come on! Where is the intrigue that we had in season one? I can see those hints of what I loved about season one - I'm looking at you that little montage. I'll be happy if it ties together well, but it seems like they are leaving Elliot out a little too much...
One of the first episodes I actually found quite boring.
I've never seen a show that is this consistently impressive!
