The beginning of this arc suffers from the same flaw as the previous seasons. It drags on for way too long. However the villain and new character Brook make the season a fun and emotional watch.

At first, I felt like Thriller Bark was pretty by-the-numbers for a One Piece arc. Introduce new crew-member, have some reason they wouldn't be able to join, have Luffy and the gang split up to fight a bad guy Pirate and some of his sidekicks. But towards the end, the arc went crazy and became so much more emotional and interesting.
