Essentially, a take on the 'odd-couple' sitcom, Peep Show revolves around the lives of two twentysomethings, Mark and Jeremy, who share a flat. Mark is an office worker, with a bleak outlook on life. who obsesses over his co-worker, Sophie. Jeremy in contrast, is a lazy, shallow guy trying to make it in the music industry. A unique twist that immediately sets the show apart form other sitcoms is the use of the first person view point [nb. the original show title was POV], where we get to see from the characters own eyes. We also get to hear internal thoughts and opinions which reveals stuff they wouldn't say out loud.
Mark has a run-in with some muggers, who steal his precious blackberry - and put him off his stroke with Sophie as a result... Meanwhile, Jeremy faces a tricky dilemma over the love of his life and a potential threesome.
Mark and Sophie are finally beginning to go steady when Sophie is moved away from London for work. Mark is devastated, so Sophie offers phone sex as a solution, which Mark nervously accepts. Meanwhile, Jeremy is forced to consider getting an old friend sectioned.
Jeremy plans to throw a secret magic mushroom party in the flat, where he hopes to seduce his ex, Big Suze. But when Mark suddenly comes home from work with gastric flu, Jeremy's plans go to pieces.
Mark's plans for an enjoyable and productive week off work go out the window when his sister comes to stay. Jeremy clearly has the hots for her, and when Mark warns him to back off, Jeremy just wants her more...
Jeremy gets called for jury service but soon complicates things by falling for the defendant. Elsewhere, Mark & Sophie go clubbing.
