I resemble Penny Dreadful's writers to the awkward dude on the table that has a great joke to tell but botches it up because he was too excited to tell the joke.

Poor Ethan. Two fathers, and wants to kill them both. But for good reasons, that's some pretty bad shit they've done.
I really like Hecate and it's nice to have a little witchery, but this incantation scene was way too long. Also that's really too bad that the snakes kill everybody but the two leaders and then just go away. Couldn't they have finished the job ? Actually they could hve killed just these two and the chase would have been off. That's stupid plot armor.
Not too sure if Hecate really likes Ethan or just sees him as an instrument to get more power, just like she wanted her mother's spot.
Is it wrong that I adore Hecate?

All the storytelling is pretty tough to get through, but overall Penny Dreadful's greatest triumphs are the performances and the cinematography.
