What an episode! Eva Green being excellent as normal.
Oh goodness this episode was so beautifully done. Eva Green is too captivating. They should not have ended this show. I want so much more.
Each new episode can be better than the previous one, that's why I love this show!
Did they know this was going to be the last season? It feels like some character's decisions are so flippy floppy, and they have no will-power or resistance.
Like Ethan caving into teaming w/Hecate, and then she died, and then he's like, oh yeah - Vanessa.
And I know that Dracula has been seducing Vanessa for quite a bit, but it feels like her willpower fizzled out pretty quickly. I know it's for the plot, but why didn't she wait before going after him? I guess she caved into other temptations pretty quickly in the past, but it's so frustrating. I want to see her fight more in the beginning, versus so much of the dramatic fight in the end.
And I didn't care much for John Clare before, and his storyline has been slow, but I did like his family reunion. I hope they utilize him in the end to fight.

Draculas seduction was done brilliantly. I could totally see her turning to the dark after that, but still didn't expect it.
Also, Dorian finally does something impactful, even if he is again bored of his plaything.
Too bad for Lily. At the end of the last season it seemed like she might have been the ultimate badass villain , but she turned into drunken villain fueled by blind hate. Loved the scene where Victor says she will turn her into obidient little wife she is meant to be. Bam. I'm not so sure the serum will on her, as she is not crazy.
Too often...great shows seems to get axed for no logical reason. I hope this show won't be one of them. It just gets better and better.
I was actually cheering for this to happen, maybe because I also love The Phantom of the Opera and since that, I can understand the motives and the behaviour of the "dark". Though it's not what we want to achieve makes us what we are, rather, it's how we achieve it and Dracula has many bad things on his platter, but I truly believe he can be other than just a pure evil who does bad things all the time just because he can. They could be a great couple, and not necessarily in darkness: Together they can embrace their needs and desires but be good simulatenously. This was the best episode of every Penny Dreadful so far and I am looking forward to the finale.

Lily's getting nuttier by the episode. Totally love Dorian's reaction, the first interesting thing he's done since being shot in season 2. He's not jealous, or afraid she will turn on him. He's just so bored because she's just a homicidal nutjob with a single idea "Kill all men, kill all men", but no vision, plan or ambition. So basic, so unoriginal, so boring. Well, if that was the point, it was well done, because she really is.
In the end, Victor's cure would be a good thing, she's a bloodthirsty monster. And at the same time, is that really his goal ? In the end what he really wants is to turn her into a calm, obedient, proper woman. Which kinda put her on the right side of the argument. That's not much, but this dilemma is probably the only interesting thing about their storyline this season.
More creature and family... I really don't care for his redemption or whatever. I wanted to see him fight Dracula or Lily's army. Also People are better than we think ?? Yeah, no.
But only two episodes left, guess it won't happen.
Other stuff I wanted and that we probably won't have: Ethan meeting Lily, that should have happened in early season 2. "What ? Wtf Victor! You've taken my dead girlfriend's body to revive her and take her for yourself ? What's wrong with you mate ?"
And Dr Jekyll...
I kinda liked Kaetenay, but it dawned on me during this episode that he's just meant to be Senbene's replacement. The minority token badass sidekick. And that's sad. Would have rather have more Senbene's background story and evolution. His face to face in vision with Vanessa is great though.
We should really have learned Dracula's identity there, at the same time as Vanessa.
Is Vanessa going Willow ? Or is that a plan ? Loved the confrontation scene.
