Tonight's live episode of The Independents (Fox Business Network, 9 p.m. ET, 6 p.m. PT, repeats three hours later) features the debut appearance on the show of beloved former Reason staffer Radley Balko, who will talk about an issue that's been burning up this here blog all week: the horrendous drug-cop assault on 19-month-old Bounkham Phonesavanh, who may not survive this latest flash-grenade bust in the War on Drugs. The Party Panel tonight consists of Fox News correspondent (and former Navy pilot) Lea Gabrielle and comedian/singer Tom Shillue, who will lead the show by talking about the increasingly bizarre story of Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl's release from five years of Taliban captivity, then later touch on Attorney General Eric Holder's new push to crack down on domestic terrorists, plus Seattle's new $15 minimum wage. Washington Examiner columnist Tim Carney will come on to talk about the crony-capitalism implications of the administration's new Environmental Protection Agency regulations on carbon. Brian Wise from the United States Consumer Coalition will discuss the allegedly politicized law enforcement behind Operation Choke Point. And the co-hosts will ponder the legality of President Obama's prisoner-swap.
