[7/10] More cute than funny, but that still counts for Xmas specials. Bart’s taking on ’Twas the Night Before Christmas gives the short a good structure, and while some of the rhymes are a stretch, the effort is there. The animation of Bart sneaking down to get presents and Homer looking like a “madman” is expressive, and the general vibe of everyone snoozing on the couch in front of holiday specials after an early Xmas day is very cozy. The Simpsons has long had something of a special relationship with the holiday season, and it’s nice to see that started early.
