The moral lesson fell flat for me and I will continue to steal cable.

“Homer vs. Lisa and the 8th Commandment“ is my least favourite episode so far this season, reminding me a lot of “The Telltale Head” from season one with how it lays plays its moral message too straight, with little subtlety. I can understand Lisa’s point of view and how she doesn't like her father stealing cable. However, her concerns about her family going to hell for it are laughable. There are several funny moments in this one, and I thought the ending where Homer cuts the power off was a neat little gag. Other than that, this is a rather unremarkable outing.

Overall, a mediocre episode.

Eh, I don't really like this one.

As others have said, it's got a very forced (and ultimately kind of stupid) moral lesson shoved into it.

Not super funny either.

Plus whenever Lisa gets on her moral high horse like this, it's incredibly annoying.

I hate how moralizing some of these episodes can be, but at least (and unlike the first season's The Telltale Head) it always knows how to construct a gag around the mundanity of the situation whereas the first season sort of struggle with it, but compensated with a warm and banal fell that this show would end up progressively losing.
