This can't decide what kind of story it wants to be. When Steel and Pole were putting "Battling Maxo" through its pre-fight tests, was the episode trying to be funny? The fight itself is just the opposite as it presented such a desperate struggle. This episode just plain confused me, and the ending did nothing to help clear it up. Even Serling's closing narration doesn't work, citing man's capacity to rise to the occasion.
From what I can tell, Steel Kelly got hammered and is going back home to try and scrape together enough to give Maxo another shot. That seems more like desperation or maybe even thick-headedness. Maybe Steel has taken too many shots to that head of his over the years.
