In a bad episode The West Wing is way better than other shows in their most epic episodes.
Only Seasons 1-4. Everything after that is hot garbage.
One of the best American Political Dramas of all time. I wish there was shows on this level today :(
Un de mes série préférées.
Intelligente sans être prétentieuse.
Un bijou
Just started watching this Aaron Sorkin created political drama and I'm hooked!•!•! Characters and shows story/ pace is on point..
Truly one of the greatest television shows ever made. Aaron Sorkin and Thomas Schlame are absolute geniuses. The acting is superb as well. A must watch show.
Quite possibly one of the best shows ever to air on television. Clever dialogue, great characters including a very likeable President.
Great show wish they would bring this one back for a season as reunion.
I love this show, even though it's 25 years old, even though females are largely relegated to assistant/spokesperson-roles (the men still being the ones making the decisions)... but the issues addressed are still relevant. And how I'd wish for rational thinking, issue-driven politics in our times instead of far-right populism.
The only thing I regret in this show is that seasons 6 and 7 could have felt much more real if Josh's candidate had been a person already introduced within the show. Then it wouldn't have been just the "will Josh and Donna get together"-question but a real suspense of whether this person would be elected president. Maybe that could have been the plan had Sam won the special election in California - have him then be the congressman that Josh persuades to run for president. It was foreshadowed after all in the early seasons that Josh and Sam would be the next generation's Leo and Bartlet... so that's my only what if-wish for this series, but I guess that plan was off the table when Lowe left the show.
Hi from 2019. Sorry to the world but a US perspective here. Loved this show on release a lifetime ago it seems. Recently watched again. The sad thing is so much of it is still relevant. This is how enlightened governance should be. Hope we can find it again. And soon :/
One of my favorite all-time TV shows.
I know a lot of people have high praise for this show as is evident by its average rating. But since it´s not 100 % it says not everyone likes it totally. I consider myself among those.
Since I know about nothing about american politics or the internal affairs of it (not from the US) I might have been at a disadvantage from the start. A lot of episodes I lost track of what was going on and the rest just couldn´t keep my interest up. So it might help if you have at least a general idea of the politics involved. And I was missing any form of suspense. Maybe it´s not the purpose of the show but when you have a crisis that could lead into an atomic strike and you´re not sure wether you are watching a soap or a sitcom something is off. And I didn´t like the characters. At first they seemed very funny and likeable but that changed. The more I watched the less I cared. All this is based on the 30+ episodes I watched but with the prospect of another 120 ahead I`m simply not willing to invest the time. I´m not bashing the show, I´m not saying it´s bad. But since I read only positive comments about it I thought I gave my view of it. I, too, like intelligent TV but The West Wing just isn´t my kind of show.
Excellent show. Just binge-watched it again and it's still a great show
Didn't understand many episodes but I stuck through and loved this series. Allison Janney and Martin Sheen are brilliant actors!
