INCREDIBLE action scenes. Emotional story. Interesting characters with depth.
i just finished and are you KIDDING ME it ends with a cliffhanger istg
A slow burn of a horror film, this shares many of the characteristic of Hereditary (2018) not least from being a damn fine film. Like the latter, the film takes its time to build up a palpable sense of dread, but also explore the normality and mundanity of its characters and location, mining a lot of humour and goodwill from its central flawed character who only wishes to protect his family. It’s also expertly crafted with beautiful cinematography and a haunting soundtrack. But the tension lies in the film keeping its audience firmly in the same mindset of its hero, completely unsure throughout of where the film is going and what the truth is, right up until a final moments. Great stuff!
Finally, I saw Frankenstein!
I liked it, it is good and it is definitely a mark in the history of Cinema but I must confess that I thought this Horror Classic would blow me away and it didn't.
Although I think it needed more creepiness in the atmosphere, I didn't felt that as much as I needed. Another thing that bothered me a bit was also the over the top acting, very teatrical. It should have been more natural.
The Frankenstein Monster is a memorable character! A huge and strong creature that never asked to be in the world. Boris Karloff was great incarnating this beast. I found Fritz maybe a bit too silly although I know he is supposed to be really mad. The set design is amazing, some of the sets are very well done!
It may not have the impact that it had in 1931 but it's definitely a remarkable work that needs to be seen.
Definitely one of the most inspirational and well produced shows of it's time. It helped pave the way for the rest of science fiction. It's incredibly slowpaced but I'd suggest at least watching a few episodes!
Delightful time spent with entertaining eccentrics. "Have a potato!"
I loved this story & I'll see it again for sure!
It works on so many levels that it touched my heart.
One of the scariest movies I know. As scary as "Ringu" or "Evil Dead"!
a little slow for today's audiences, but very moody and atmospheric
I do agree this has a marvelous soundtrack while being an adaptation is good, but as a movie about Dracula it doesn't live to the book.
