I'm generally quite generous when it comes to rating movies, at least compared to some. However, when it comes to this one, I agree with most reviewers: it's terrible.
I enjoy a lot of B horror flicks, as long as they're entertaining. But the worst thing a movie can do is be boring, like this one is. It had an interesting premise, so I was disappointed by how badly it was executed.
The biggest problem is that the scenes in the cave, where most of the movie takes place, are way too dark and the camera is too shaky, so you can't make out what's going on. Sure, less is sometimes more when it comes to horror, but this was just silly. It really annoyed me and I couldn't wait for the movie to be over.
I'm a generous reviewer because I find that most people are way too negative these days.
With that said, this isn't a very good film. Not the worst I've seen but just too boring. We've seen and heard it all before. Over and over and over again.
I kind of liked the ending. It felt more like a "Paranormal Activity" ending rather than an "Amityville" one. My poor mother feel asleep a couple of times during the movie which isn't a good sign.
I have yet seen any movie surpass the original "The Amityville Horror" or the 2005 remake. They obviously have better budgets and actors but come on.
I think the child actors did the best job in a sort of boring film.
I gave up after two seasons. It started out ok, and I'm a fan of miss Cassidy, but the show got old very fast. All the island flashbacks bored me to death. Good looking guys though, but that can't save a show.
I just watched the finale of "Ravenswood", which follows "Pretty Little Liars" character Caleb Rivers (played by hunky Tyler Blackburn) as he discovers a deadly curse that has plagued the town of Ravenswood for generations. Let me get one thing straight: I'm a big fan of teen drama series, and "Pretty Little Liars" is one of the best ones in years. I also love a good mystery. But the supernatural theme of "Ravenswood" put me off a bit, probably because it's so far from the "Pretty Little Liars" universe.
Also, the acting isn't that good. I can live with subpar acting as long as I like a series in general, but there is something quite cheesy about "Ravenswood". Not even the cute guys can save it. Sure, it's entertaining at times, but it seems they're trying to hard to compete with "The Vampire Diaries" and "The Originals" instead of doing their own thing.
I don't regret watching "Ravenswood", but to be honest, I won't miss it that much. And I'm definitely not surprised it got cancelled. There are some good news though: The character of Caleb will return to "Pretty Little Liars". I just wonder how they will explain his short experience with the supernatural. Was it just a dream?
Hi everyone! I just made a fan group about "Lace" on Facebook. :) Check it out:

Judy, Pagan and Maxine used to be best friends in the 60's, while attending the same boarding school in the Swiss Alps. Twenty years later, a movie star named Lili, summons the three women to her hotel, asking them: "Which one of you bitches it my mother?"
I first saw "Lace" as a kid, when the series was rerun on Swedish television in the 90's. I was so impressed by the powerful women, exotic locations and over-the-top story lines. A couple of years later, "Lace" was rerun yet again. This time around, I was old enough to fully enjoy this wonderful series.
I'm a big fan of trashy mini-series, especially from the 80's. But even though some parts of "Lace" could be considered trashy, it's a lot better than people give it credit! The acting is solid. Bess Armstrong, Brooke Adams and Arielle Dombasle play their parts as powerful women beautifully. But my personal favourite is the amazing Phoebe Cates. She plays the strong, yet vulnerable Lili perfectly, bringing both sexiness and innocence to the complexed character.
"Lace" can be considered trashy and campy, but it is a lot better than most mini-series. It's definitely one of my personal favourites.
I still LOVE this show! Best prime time soap in ages, a modern day "Dynasty".
