A lightweight episode after a string of dense and emotional ones at the end of the last season and the beginning of this one. Arthur seemed to have returned to himself after mourning his father, unfortunately he went back to some of his worse habits as he bullies Merlin throughout the episode and allows his knights to bully Merlin as well. Though in order to save the last dragon egg, Merlin behaves in a way that could have been construed as high treason, aiding and abetting Borden in getting the last part of the triskelion. The trick with Arthur's trousers also was rather nasty, as he sort of humiliated Arthur in front of his small council. But Merlin is so committed to save the dragon egg as he promised it to the dragon. I guess that the scene when Borden announces that he would have no problem with the guards as he has his dagger, suggesting he may kill them, is a bit out of character for Merlin as he does not protest about it but rather is OK with the fact that some innocent people might be lose their lives. This just emphasises how crazy is he about the dragon. Though the creature is really cute when it does hatch, with Merlin's help. So maybe it was worth fighting for after all.
