Snowden

Having just watched the film, I gotta say: if this doesn't make you disgusted with how our government has treated not only its own people but other countries' civilians, then nothing will. Just a note: Republican or Democrat, both parties contributed to this surveillance disaster! I'll end the rant by saying this movie is good, and the ending was incredible, but has a lot of slow parts. With that, the only fair way to end this: Pardon Snowden Already, Obama.

Spider-Man: Homecoming

Well here goes. I did not like the movie. Out of all the Marvel movies, this was the weakest. Especially weaker than the two previous Spider-Man franchises. I did not want Marvel to go the DCU route and change the characters, especially Aunt May. The only people they correctly portrayed were Vulture and Peter. Why does Peter do all the Spider-Man stunts in a school which has cameras?? And why is Flash Thompson not a jock? Where's Spider-Man's origin? I want to see Uncle Ben, the wrestling match, hell, even Harry. That said, this is nothing compared to the Amazing Spider-Man series, which features my favorite portrayal of Spider-Man. 4/10

My only criticism is that the sheriff was a pointless character. He added absolutely nothing to the story, especially with his death.

Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood: 1x64 Journey's End

Man, this episode was a real tearjerker! I knew what to expect, having already read the manga, but damn, was I crying tears of joy. Really, really wish there was a sequel, to see Ed's kids' adventures, or Ed/Al's adventures through the West/East. I loved May so much!!! She was so adorable when she cried. Huh, guess I'll have to check out the movie.

Saw II

Holy crap! This movie was a mindscrew! I was baffled more than the 1st movie! Can't tell you how much I just wanted Xavier to die. But the fact that it was all prerecorded and Daniel was in the safe, meaning Eric Matthews literally just had to talk to Jigsaw for 2 hours to see his son alive was mindblowing! The call back to the first film with the Dr. Gordon scene and the restroom was whoa! Still, I feel saddened by not knowing what happened to Gordon's wife and daughter after the first film. Can't wait to watch the third movie tomorrow night!

Sucks to see so many people sleeping on such a great series. I loved this movie, and really hope the show will get picked up again.

Saw III

What happens when the games are unwinnable? Let's find out. Jigsaw, John Kramer, always had the philosophy: the tests must be escape-able. Amanda will try to prove him wrong. The tests: tragic, the ending: horrific, my enjoyment: unbelievable. The twists in the first and second movies were better, but damn, was this movie great. Never have you seen the villain in such a vulnerable state.

The Mauritanian

Fantastic movie that demonstrates just how cruel and awful Gitmo is. It is a damn embarrassment that Bush, Obama, and Trump have used that facility to torture people in horrific and inhumane ways, with none of them going to shut it down. I sincerely hope Biden will do the right thing, but I won't hold my breath. The end credits roll detailing the aftermath of Mohamedou's struggle was just heartbreaking.

This was great acting all around, and I would've never recognized Doctor Strange.

Boy Meets World: 7x23 Brave New World (2)

And that's that. This was a great series, but the last two seasons had Cory reallyyyyy out of character, and I didn't like how the writers turned Eric from a loveable goofball into a complete moron. The thing I don't get is, Topanga, Shawn, Cory, and Angela still had 2 years of college left, so why end it here? That said, I wish Morgan had gotten greater focus throughout the series, as she was left forgotten and neglected during the early seasons.

And they should've brought back Mr. Turner! He had a huge involvement in Shawn's life, and they wrote him off like he was nothing. There was no excuse for not having him appear in this or the graduation episodes.

Joker

Great movie, but shouldn't Joker and Bruce be the same age.

Note that this movie removes any history of Joker's exploits as Red Hood, so treat is as non-canon to the Batman series.

Very, very realistic. Heartbreaking, but incredible.

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

Over-hyped to death. I don't see why this movie has such high ratings, both on here and on RT. The writing was terrible, the exploits of the memory people was unnecessary -- hell, they do this whole procedure in an apartment??Joel tried the whole move to keep his memories in spite of the procedure, only for them to be erased anyway? What was the point?? Patrick was unnecessary. How did Joel and Clementine find each other again? I find it really, really improbable that they'd meet on the train again. And why are they trying to get back together?? They already know their flaws, and it's just going to lead to them breaking up again. Joel's two friends provided nothing to the movie. Overall, this movie was an absolute mockery of cinema. I expected something along the lines of Total Recall, but got 'Child Joel's Escape from the Bullies While Memory Erasers Have Drug-filled Sex Next to his Unconscious Body'. What the fuck? 2 hours of my life wasted. I honestly don't see what any of you people on here are getting from the movie. It was absolute crap. 2/10 rating. Done.

Orphan

Great film, but the husband was a damn idiot the whole movie, especially after the treehouse/hammer/playground incidents. He had to be braindead to not notice something wrong. Also, why did they not check the cameras in the hospital? Surely, they have ones in the hallways.

Saw IV

Just so you don't go Googling it when you watch the movie: the autopsy is the ending, and the rest of Saw IV happens parallel to Saw III. Eh...I prefer the previous directors. The traps were gruesome, and the revelation at the end, in terms of Rigg, was astonishing. I'll give it a 6.

The 5th Wave

Fantastic movie, great special effects, but saddened that they left important characters out. These other commenters don't know what they're talking about. If they had read the book, they would understood just how incredible this movie really is, especially compared to the likes of Maze Runner.

Regular Show: 8x31 The Power

Finally caught up. Sad that Mordecai didn't end up with CJ, but this episode was so emotional. This was one of my favorite shows as a teen, but like my childhood shows, things have to end. It was bittersweet, yes, but Pops lived a full life -- and it's like you could rewatch the whole series, and it'd be like reliving the memories. There are few great cartoons (from the golden age 1990's-2010's) left, and one day, shows like Gumball, Simpsons, and SpongeBob will end. Kids today will never know how incredible it was to be alive when Rugrats, Ed, Edd n Eddy, KND, and the like, were pumping out new episodes. Well I just need to see the movie now, but farewell another great series from a better time.

Jolly good show.

Edward Scissorhands

Great movie, horrible ending. I loved the concept and story, but not having Winona, or her family, visit him after 50+ years (or her telling the truth) is just awful. Edward deserved better. It’d been really cool if Edward had walked into the grandchild’s bedroom, and had been her granddad all along, but leaving him alone and miserable in that abandoned estate for eternity is horrible.

The Thing

I truly fail to see why this received such negative criticism when it released. It was pretty good. Insanely grotesque, but on par with Evil Dead in that respect. Definitely worth watching, especially for the cliffhanger ending.

Black Christmas

Interesting take. Starts out slow, but is unique. Only things I didn't understand were:

1. How did Peter know Jess was down there?
2. How could Jess not hear Billy shouting from within the house, during his last phone call?
3. Why did the police not investigate all the rooms, including the attic, after Jess's survival?
4. Why was the head mistress, or whoever she was, hide her drinking problem, while the sorority sisters had no issue with their drinking?
5. Why bother telling us about the murdered kid, if they're not going to show us?

The Walking Dead: 9x05 What Comes After

I really thought he'd become a zombie. It was nice seeing Hershel and Sasha, but what the heck? No Glenn, T-Dog, Carl, Andrea, or Tyreese, among others? This is Rick's last episode, so why not have all the important people that helped him survive this long? Oh well, at least the helicopter finally got used.

13 Reasons Why: 1x12 Tape 6, Side B

Holy fuck. Screw you Bryce!

I know these tapes end in Hannah's suicide, but I keep hoping for her to have one day of happiness without something going wrong for her. Everybody keeps screwing her over, sometimes literally, and it's so heartbreaking to see her constantly humiliated and traumatized further with nobody to confide in. Even worse that both her and Clay loved each other, but we'll never see that relationship begin. I know it's a fictional show, but I just can't stop thinking about this series, especially this episode in particular. When every 'friend' has turned their back on her, or made her life even worse, I can't blame her for ending it all.

That said, fuck Bryce, Marcus, and Courtney. At least Alex and Sheri show their guilt.

Black Mirror: 1x01 The National Anthem

Huh, it improved his approval ratings. Maybe ol' Trump should try that -- though a pig with a pig doesn't get the same kind of reaction.

Well, didn't know what to expect, heard so much hype for this series, so tried the first episode...with family present. Well they liked it.

28 Weeks Later

I liked it more than the first movie, but one thing bothers me: Why were there no soldiers stationed in the mother's room? Why was the mother strapped down, so she couldn't avoid her death? You have the most valuable and the most dangerous person in the country in that room, and nobody bothers to protect her? A massive outbreak on the base all because of one kiss.
