Much better than I thought it would be. The Rock and Ryan Reynolds surprisingly work well together, and Gal Gadot is just divine as always. It is a fair bet that there's going to be a sequel, the ending made sure of that.
I went for the laughs and left the movie theater with an existential crisis. I loved it <3
Yeah... the plotholes were a bit much on this one.
While entertaining on a basic level, it's really sad that this is what Netflix does with our money.
Everything I wanted it to be and more. Perfectly cast and excellent soundtrack by Hans Zimmer. Epic Sci-Fi at its best.
Jeez, the snowflaky reactions of straight white men because not every single episode and narrative centres them - anything deviating from that priority is apparently "woke". Get over yourselves, you egomaniacal bigots.
Anyway, another great episode that nicely expanded Ellie's backstory - bonus points for the Mortal Kombat II appreciation, too :nerd:
This movie is legendary. someday it'll become a classic. I don't know why someone is complaing about why they didn't get to explore more of Oppenheimer's character, or what he was. I think that person needs to rewatch this movie. Scene are not snippets, It is complete and well integrated. Yes, they covered a lot ground. Could it have been a miniseries? of course! but saying that this movie fails to integrate different aspect, is completely false. Even character whom had small screen time, did perfect. I think everyone needs to hit theatre, so Hollywood makes more fucking movie like this. which delves deep in character and dark part of human chatacter. Not everything is Pink and happy. I think, you must watch it in theatre decide for yourself. I think I have spent all my penny well. Thank you Nolan.
At this point I simply couldn't care less if it isn't exactly like the books, this show is setting a new standard for sci-fi and storytelling like The Expanse did a couple years ago or the Wachowski's did a few decades ago. Apple TV is winning the streaming war right now ( if we judge on quality )
I'm just gonna say that this is great. Not like any other alien invasion, and the cliffhanger just teases more to come.
Everyone has been blaming and giving lower ratings to this show since the beginning, but my heart says "have a little faith" and yes, it's correct, this show is getting better. I can't wait for season 2 to come out.
I'm a sucker for a good Western but mannnn who knew Tim McGraw could act
i really like the pace for me i do not find it slow or boring, there is probaby to much story to tell and what are the showing is enough for now. I like how they trying to connect everything.
Also the opening credits are fantastic.
oh man...
I admired Lizzie's toughness but she really is messed up and I wish she wasn't.
The action scenes are quite good but the plot and dialogue undermine the movie.
I don't know about anyone else, but despite the slow start, I'm enjoying this season. It's been more consistent than FTWD and TWD, perhaps because there are fewer characters to focus on. Sure, it's not without flaws (some glaring), but I think the story has FINALLY blossomed and is worth sticking around for. Bravo.
Funny as shit. And then sad as hell when you realize it's basically just a documentary.
Please don't suck, please don't suck, please don't suck...
When you watch a movie and wish that it went for another 2 hours - fantastic.
Being a Colombian I can tell you that it was set in a perfect way.
The colors, the cultural diversity, the music that represents us, the typical foods, the personalities, everything. You could even say that the background on the violence is very well done. In Colombia we have a big problem that is forced internal displacement, so much so that we are the number one country in this. The fact that they gave a few little moments about this conflict ... brought me to tears, but I really appreciate it.
It is the perfect tribute to my beautiful land. I loved it.
In addition, I feel that it is very easy to connect with the characters and give each one a little development, considering that there are so many.
I have a little criticism for the movie though. I feel like a little more explanation was needed as to why Mirabel could not receive the miracle when she was a child and the specific reason why Casita was cracking. Maybe they could make it a bit longer to explain this, but overall I liked it.
Pd: Lin Manuel Miranda never disappoints, I'm his fan 4eveeeeer
Each episode has me more and more impressed with Bella's portrayal of Ellie. It's excellent.
Also, Ellie checking her hair in the reflection was super cute.
3 Thoughts After Watching ‘The Little Mermaid’:
Halle Bailey IS Ariel. She was absolute perfection. From voice to vibe, she captured her essence impeccably. I believe a star has officially been born.
Melissa McCarthy had veryyy gargantuan tentacles to fill. And I think Pat Carroll would’ve been incredibly pleased with what she did with her sea witch.
I thought they built upon the original film’s story in all the right ways. Fleshing it out to make a little more sense. Providing more substance. While not everything was picture perfect, it worked and gave fresh magic to a beloved story.
Bonus Thought: I thought it was a fantastic movie to look at, especially under the sea. Gorgeous colors and visuals. Eye candy all around. And that includes Jonah Hauer-King. :pound_symbol:snack
I think the message of the movie is rendered more important and urgent by the fact that so many adults simply don’t get it.
The story is beautifully told, but in a society obsessed with being successful the metaphor about the gifts flies over most heads.
Great movie, which gave me a couple of laughs and kept me entertained the whole time.
The cast has good chemistry and does a great job. Ryan Reynolds basically plays his funny and saracastic Deadpool/talkshow persona, which I personally really enjoy.
Would recommend and looking forward to the sequel :fingers_crossed_tone1:!
i am DEVASTATED this was such a powerful and depressing episode. ALL the awards for bella and storm
I enjoyed this, way better than I had been led to believe
After all these years, all the up and downs, all the good and shit, all the 'cant wait for next weeks episode' to the not watching for years and having to catch up.
After everything I'm actually kinda sad to this show end. It definitely needs to but still. I mean I was 15 when I watched the first episode, I'm 27 now. I have been reading the comics for even longer. This universe, for better or worse, has been a big part of my life and I will definitely miss it.
The show just keeps stepping it up. This was a joyous adventure full of fun and making full use of the characters. Ethan Peck is bringing so many good things to his portrayal of Spock. Pike's pirate excursion was delightful and I'm becoming genuinely heartbroken for how Chapel's feelings are being thrown around.
The real star here turned out to be Jesse James Keitel who absolutely slayed it, creating a character that I am super eager to see return. Slightly less impressive was the pirate Remy who felt like he was there only for joke purposes. Still fun though, especially as we got to see Pike in armoured apron.
And wow, that ending twist! I didn't even realise how much I wanted that until it happened.
Keep doing what you're doing, Strange New Worlds. This is so much fun. I just wish we were getting more Hemmer.
In this mocumentary you will learn that 1+1=7 and that there is not a conspiracy theory that MAGA people won't fall for!
