1000 Stars or A Tale of Thousand Stars was my first Thai drama and surely not my last. I fell head over heels for it, the plot, the characters, the cast... Its OST is still on repeat. I completed it weeks ago yet I'm still not ready to move on entirely (despite watching Manner of Death, I Told Sunset About You and other dramas in the meantime).
I'm not saying 1000 Stars is perfect but it's close and I didn't actively look for flaws. Well, there's one. It's too short. The characters all made their way into my heart so quickly that it's hard to let go. I'm in for a rewatch for sure.
What captured me the most was the chemistry between Phupha and Tian and well, the setting. The countryside of Thailand is so beautiful. Looking behind the scenes (aka watching the documentaries Behind The Scenes and Counting 1 to 1000) is highly recommended to get more insight. Earth and Mix know each other for around 7 years by now and are good friends so it was probably an easy thing for them to put this on screen and I can only say that the drama benefited from this.
Mix is a newbie actor and was actually asked by Earth if he wanted to audition. He signed a contract with GMMTV so he could take the role of Tian. When you don't know this you'll probably won't believe it though because this guy can act and surely knows how to draw the viewers attention.
Comparing this drama to others does not do it justice in my opinion. It has all the elements I love in a drama. Chemistry of cast, solid production (my applause to the crew and director, I haven't seen such a dedicated crew and supportive/caring director for a while), interesting plot, character growth/development, meaningful quotes/messages. The great cast and beautiful OST complete the package.
From me this drama gets a 10 rating and a highly recommended note.
To this day this is one of my most favorite movies. I lost count of how many times I have rewatched it. I love everything about it, the animation, the story, the music and message. A true gem.
Maybe one could say I'm hardly objective after watching this drama twice in a little over one month but on the other hand I do know that even this drama is not perfect.
Don't get me wrong, I really love it but due to Chinese political restrictions the original novel on which this drama is based on couldn't be adapted as one might wish.
Zhen Hun (original title) is a Boys Love novel and includes supernatural elements on a regular basis, two themes that are forbidden and because of that quite delicate in China or directly banned.
With that I wonder why it even was adapted as drama, but I'm glad it was.
While the script needed to rewrite a significant amount of the original storyline it still shows many things you could call "easter eggs" you'll only fully get when you read the novel. Therefore I recommend to watch this drama at least twice. Once before and once after you've read the novel (which is translated to english).
So the story: Of course Boys Love couldn't be shown so the relationship between Shen Wei and Zhao Yunlan is mostly described as Brotherhood or Soulmates. Still, when you see the actors in their roles it basically screams "love" all over. Nothing explicit is seen but they portray their characters perfectly and I got lost in their mimic as both of them can easily deliver feelings only through their faces or subtle small things like a finger lingering on the other's hand for a while longer than necessary. The supernatural parts were mostly removed so we get to see a bit of ghosts here and there though anything is rarely named as such whatsoever and some CGIs that don't reach the requirements of Hollywood-spoiled eyes but is pretty decent and thankfully spares us badly animated things.
As mentioned the acting is superb. Both main characters are totally convincing and carry the story. But also the support characters and those with smaller roles fit in perfectly and make it whole. In fact many of those that appear as side characters reappear through the drama and I grew quite fond of them. The cast has a great chemistry and I think you can see it in the final product if a cast got along with each other or not.
Before I even watched the drama completely I had to get my fingers on the OST. The soundtrack is fantastic. The drama has an english opening song and each track on the OST is recognizable which is rare in my opinion. I love to listen to this soundtrack and kept it playing all the time when I wasn't watching an episode. It's worth to mention that the main actors Zhu Yilong and Bai Yu contributed a song to the OST that they sang together.
This drama has a high rewatch value for me. There are many things that might not be seen at the first glance and the scenes that they included from the novel will give you more once you've read the novel and know on what details you have to focus. But the first watch is enjoyable too. The drama has comedy, suspense, mystery and more.
I always watched a couple of episodes in a row and spent many long nights as it's hard to stop.
Overall I have nothing to complain on this drama. They made the best out of what they were given to work with and even with the knowledge that there could be more supernatural stuff if it wasn't for the strict policy of the Chinese government I think it's pretty good. The episodes often ended with cliffhangers which could annoy people but that's mostly because the storyline flows through the whole series and cases of the Investigation team are intertwined through episodes. I like this way of storytelling so it's not a negative aspect for me.
I can recommend this drama to everyone who wants to watch a good storyline with loveable characters or is curious in any way. Check it out, it's absolutely worth it. ^.^
I'll never get tired of rewatching this outstanding show with its fabulous cast. So sad it got cancelled after only 3 seasons. It had the perfect mix of suspense, action, drama and humour. Must watch!
The special is more like a compilation of scenes between the main leads throughout the drama but it does include a scene that is set after the last episode of the drama and therefore worth watching. I recommend watching this special, especially when you're unhappy with the official drama's end.
When I started this drama I got The Untamed (2019) vibes from this. The chemistry between the main leads Zhang Zhehan and Gong Jun is quite similar to Xiao Zhan and Wang Yibo (The Untamed) not to mention that Sun Xi Lun (Zhang Chengling) reminds me of Wang Yibo.
The drama had a really low budget compared to other productions. For comparison, The Untamed had a budget of prox. 120 Mio. while Word of Honor had to do with 50 Mio. before Wo Long Nuts stepped in and sponsored them with another 20 Mio.
Considering the low budget I'm even more amazed that they did really well. I've seen really bad props and CGI effects, Word of Honor has neither even though the CGI in episodes 32 got a bit down in quality.
What I really disliked though was the unbalance between screen time for our main leads and the villains, Scorpions, Ghosts etc. There are episodes (length 40 minutes per episode) and for at least half of the episode we get to see a monologue/dialogue of the villains. At some point I just wanted to skip because it's not like the viewer gets super important infos out of that scenes.
Putting that aside we have a really good drama though. The cast is very well chosen and does a great job. The main leads interactions are a joy to watch and the viewer gets some heartwarming closeness to see between them. Word of Honor is based on the BL novel "Faraway Wanderers" (天涯客) by Priest and the drama stick to the novel as much as possible. The scriptwriter did a really good job in adapting the novel. There were scenes that made me wonder how they passed censorship but I'm excited they managed to be aired.
I recommend watching the Behind-the-Scenes videos (english subbed) on Youko's Youtube channel though to also get to see those who didn't make it into the drama. While Word of Honor is based on BL (leveled down by Chinese censorship) it is also a great drama with lots of Wuxia (action) elements, worth giving it a chance even when you're not a fan of BL.
The OST is nice and includes songs performed by the cast such as Zhang Zhehan, Gong Jun (Simon), Sun Xi Lun, Li Dai Kun and Ma Wen Yuan (Asher). Also worth mentioning are the costumes (they really put a lot of thought into them to make them visually attractive in fighting scenes), the action scenes and the cinematography.
To some the last couple episodes might seem a bit rushed, that's because originally the drama was supposed to have 9 more episodes but got cut. It is sad for the story to not get a well-paced and written out completion in the last episodes (with 9 more episodes it could've been better) but overall it's still good enough to not consider it a negative aspect.
When you watch the special (highly recommended!) you'll get a wrapped up, satisfying ending. The end of the dramas episode 36 is a rather sad one and open . I recommend this drama for fans of Chinese BL Novel adaptions as well as Wuxia fans or those who enjoyed dramas like The Untamed or Guardian.
I love that the cat has been given a voice (wonderful actress Han Ye Ri known for Age of Youth for example) so the viewer could hear her thoughts and "replies" to her owner. Gave the drama an utterly cute aspect.
The characters were annoying though from the female lead who is extremely clingy, to the webtoon writer rival and to the male lead's part-time job boss in the book shop. Also 8 episodes a 35 minutes long were simply not enough to portray much depth and reflect the male leads past in a satisfying way which is sad because things are mentioned but not sufficiently closed. People who expect a romance will be letdown. There is a friendship at most. No detailed spoilers on my side just a warning: Prepare tissues, this has a tragedy tag on Mydramalist.com.
Overall: This is a nice, short drama for in between (perfect for binge watching it in 1-2 days since total time is around 4 hours) and if you're a cat lover you might enjoy the cat a lot. One watch is enough though.
I went for this drama when I wanted to watch something more lighthearted and seeing some funny videos on Youtube about this drama I was convinced I was gonna enjoy it. I was completely right and ended up loving it.
The story is interesting, but I agree with others that it got a tiny bit draggy sometimes. Yet, there is still enough to keep you watching so I wouldn't say it's negative. There are a lot of comedy scenes in this which loosen up the otherwise more serious story about the murderer. I loved how the story makes Ji Eun Hyuk not a second male lead that also falls for the female lead, but a supportive friend who's secretly cheering for the couple and encouraging them.
What I loved the most was the cast and wonderful chemistry. Ji Chang Wook and Nam Ji Hyun make such a cute couple on screen. The other actors such as Choi Tae Joon, Nara, Dong Ha, Kim Ye Won, Yoon Bok In, Nam Ki Ae and Lee Deok Hwa (to name a few) were a pleasure to watch as well and totally fitted in making the whole drama complete. I must admit that the murderer gave me chills. Very good! They all portrayed their character so well. I knew Jang Hyuk Jin from Mad Dog already and enjoyed his wonderful acting here again. He became a favorite of mine. :) Just because of the cast this drama is worth a try.
The music picked my interest and I like it. It's fitting the drama very well and contains nice ballads such as "The Same Day" by Ra. D, "The Memory Of That Day" by NELL or "How About You" by CHEEZE aside lighthearted tunes like "Why You" by SEENROOT.
I'll definitely rewatch this when I want something more lighthearted. The scenes with Ji Chang Wook with others from the cast like Nam Ji Hyun or Choi Tae Joon alone are worth rewatching. xD
The 30 minutes long episodes are easy to watch in between.
Overall I highly recommend this drama to anyone who enjoys law themed dramas with a good portion of romance and comedy. I liked how well they balanced the different genres. It's funny without giving you the feeling of forced slap stick humor, is exciting without being too dark and has just the right amount of law to not make it boring. It's one of my favorite dramas now.
Okay this is one of the funniest dramas ever. The guys stumble from one misunderstanding and compromising situation to the other and it's just so funny to watch.
Very good movie, great cast and well-written storyline with a twist. I really liked the end.
I still don't think the drama deserved the hate it received right from the beginning. How people could go and judge it after 4 aired episodes is beyond me. So I'll try to give this constructive criticism, because I don't say that this drama is a masterpiece when it isn't.
After the first 4 episodes I had a blank mind, couldn't say if I liked or disliked the drama. I didn't feel bored, nor excited.
It's the same after I completed it, just that my head is now full of thoughts about all the questions that were left unanswered. I won't go into detail but if you like your drama end to tie all loose ends, look elsewhere because the writer left us with lots of empty room for interpretation.
What's positive about the story is the setting and the idea itself. I found it interesting and still think it could make a good drama. Sadly, as the drama kept going it only got more confusing. There were some moments when I wasn't sure if I missed something or the scriptwriter herself got more and more confused with all this traveling between worlds.
It might have been better to keep it more simple but that's not how it is. And yes I have to admit there are some filler scenes that we could do without and plot holes throughout the drama. But just as much plot holes there are product placements which personally I find just as distracting and annoying.
Bottles with coffee, chicken, food delivery service, beauty products, bakeries, car brands and more. The most annoying for me was the coffee and beauty stuff. More than once it looked like I had accidentally turned the teleshopping channel on. No joke!
We even get praising lines with this products telling us how good it tastes or an explanation how to use the beauty product. This might be allowed but it's definitely not what I want to see in a drama. Sponsoring is okay and important, I get it, but please don't shove those products in our faces like that and mess up the flow and logic of the story with them. There were nice and dynamic scenes that lost their meaning when another product popped up and stole the attention. There are way more subtle ways to do this...
The whole cast did a great job and the acting was really good. If anything I would blame the scriptwriter that made the female lead cry so often and not the actress for having to follow the script. It was my first drama with Kim Go Eun and Lee Min Ho and I liked them both a lot. Woo Do Hwan was the only one I knew from the cast/who was already among my favorites before this drama and he once again showed how good he can portray different personality types. I enjoyed every scene with him the most. I would wish for more scenes with him and Kim Yong Ji who also left a good impression. ^^ I liked the acting of Jung Eun Chae and Lee Jung Jin. Sadly their characters kept staying pretty much in the dark.
The OST is good, probably not going to be a favorite of mine but it's fitting the scenes of the drama and also nice to listen to on it's own.
As for the rewatch value. Chances I'm gonna rewatch this drama are pretty slim. Maybe a few scenes, mostly from the first couple of episodes when the traveling still caused funny scenes and didn't turn into a who's who.
I recommend everyone to go and see for themselves if this drama is to their liking or not. As I said, it received a lot of hate and I think not all of it was fair and appropriate so go and decide for yourself. Maybe this is your next favorite?
For me it was decent despite flaws in the writing and how the story progressed. I don't regret watching it, just think they could've done way better.
The figure Mulan is based on a traditional Chinese ballad about a young woman who became a warrior. There are lots of adaptions so why should you watch this particular one?
I recommend to watch this version because it's simply the most accurate adaption that I've seen yet.
I have watched and loved the animated Disney version of Mulan as a child and it still has a place in my heart, but for the mature audience this one is probably the best version.
The movie tells a realistic story with depth and an outstanding cast. It does not make it look like Mulan won the war within a couple days but actually refers to 12 years of war, which makes the audience understand why her character seems hopeless at some point.
The Disney remake was too 'fantastic' in my opinion with witch and magic. Mulan - Rise of a warrior proves that you don't need fancy costumes or CGI effects to tell a captivating story.
I loved season 1! It was my first drama with sismance and so heartwarming. All the characters grew to me and I looked forward to season 2. Well, the first episode had the vibes from season 1 but from there it just went downhill. The characters suddenly started to act out of character and what happened to potential love interests from season 1, they just disappeared. One of the girls turns into a stalker and that's just one thing that really upset me. I wish I could un-see the disaster that season 2 was.
My advise: Go for season 1, it's really superb. Just ignore the second season, it has nothing of the essence that season 1 is made of.
I watched many adaption of "The Beauty and the Beast" fairytale and can therefore say: If you're a fan of the fairytale you can ignore this movie/show as it barely has anything in common with it anymore. Take the magical story of Beauty and the Beast, remove all magic (and the curse) and fill it up with a beautiful prince who's questionable actions would drive away any sane girl. The actors are nice to look at. Too bad that the script is a mess though and ruins the experience. It makes the leads play hot 'n' cold with each other for nearly 2 hours and makes the end feel rushed even though you longed for it to happen. Not to mention the plot holes. I'm not even bothering explaining in detail why a wound with a fork is most likely fatal in the time this script plays. Just one word: infection.
Oh and one character claims they're not a doctor yet they mix stuff for fever (without giving warranty it helps but guess what it does) and a tranquilizer...eh yeah sure.... rolls eyes
The cover looks way too promising, even the rose has lost its meaning. It's simply used to produce something. This movie/show is disappointing, not enchanting me and that's something rare as I love the fairytale it is based on.
The best thing for me was the CGI effects and how they brought the pokemons to life. Especially Pikachu was really cute and funny. People who are familiar with pokemons and their characteristics will benefit from this and find heartwarming and sweet anecdotes throughout the movie.
As for the story, it entertained me. Not more but also not less. The only thing I sorta dislike is the end. I was a bit disappointed by how they wrote it but anything else is well done and deserves a watch.
How I wish this was released on DVD. It's such a funny and heartwarming TV show which I miss dearly. I watched it as a child and I still search for a release or replay on TV today.
Can't understand why this movie got such low ratings here. I know Yoo Ji Tae from the drama Mad Dog which is why I watched this movie and was once again mesmerized by his acting skills. Throughout a good cast and performance.
For me it was a truly inspiring movie (based on a true story). After watching the movie I checked out the tenor this movie is based on and was amazed even more what he achieved through hard work and not giving up. Definitely worth a watch!
Didn't make me breathless like the cover states but it's a solid and good thriller nonetheless. Definitely worth checking out.
The first movie in the Pitch Perfect Trilogy was really fun and had a good story but with every sequel it got worse. While the second movie was at least bearable (except for really rude/racist jokes on women) the third is horrible. The so called plot is non-existent and ridiculous. Amy as a martial arts pro? Yeah sure, that was as logical as the rest of the plot. If it weren't for the still good acapella scenes and the talented actresses I would've dropped this movie within the first couple minutes. My advise: Watch the acapella clips on Youtube and ignore this movie. It's not like you miss out on anything great.
I liked the mystery in this drama and that it isn't clear who's the bad one right away. Even though Tan was suspicious that didn't stop me from rooting for him and Dr. Bun, they have great chemistry (undeniable because Max and Tul are friends in real life and have worked together for a while now). The drama comes with twists which make it interesting, but if you focus on forensic accuracy you might want to skip this because fingerprints don't seem to exist in this universe. We see a lot of things where fingerprints or DNA analyses would have solved the issue within one or two episodes. If you can ignore this, Manner of Death is an entertaining crime/mystery drama and worth a watch.
Cold War is a good crime, thriller movie with an excellent cast. Something I appreciate is that Cold War does not include one action scene after the other, yes we do get explosions and action but they are not dominating the whole movie to cover a mediocre story underneath. Instead the focus is more on the hostage situation and the lingering danger of dealing with a criminal who knows about intern police procedures as well as real life themes such as greed for power or corrupt systems. This makes the movie one full of suspense and worth listening to the actual dialogues and pay attention to the story. The end could've been better, because things are hinting at a sequel which is non-existent.
I can recommend this movie to fans of thrillers with a good story and cast.
I enjoyed this movie (as well as it's sequel) a lot. I owned a cat and can only say the creators of this movie observed their fury friends pretty well because I can relate to how the pets act in a lot of scenes throughout the movie.I did not feel like I've seen elements of this movie somewhere before. It was a funny and charming watch. If you enjoyed movies like Ratatouille, Peter Rabbit or Zootopia chances are high you'll like Pets too.
A nice movie addressing the aftermath of the 2011 earthquake in Fukushima, Japan without being too depressing. At first it was strange to watch the movie in black-white but it actually is an artful expression of the setting and supporting the atmosphere. I also like the end, it's not a conclusion, but leaves room for hope . I recommend this movie.
At first it was confusing that they changed name and gender of the main character (I watched the anime and partially read the manga). The story is interesting and even though you will encounter changes from the manga and anime adaption it's worth watching if you're a fan of Kuroshitsuji. The actor Hiro Mizushima convinces as Sebastian and Ayame Gouriki kills her role of Kiyoharu (Ciel Phantomhive) in a good way. They have good chemistry. I enjoyed the movie a lot and was ready for a rewatch right after it ended.
My first Thai movie and honestly I was like "What on earth did I watch" after it ended. I watched it on a stream with someone else and we kept chatting on all the things that left us flabbergasted. The male lead has more or less one expression throughout the whole movie and even when he says he's mad you just can't tell by his expression which is stonily. The female lead makes it hard for the watcher to feel sympathy. She's straightforward which wouldn't be too bad if it wouldn't come with a rude, non-caring for others and their feelings attitude. In short she's quite selfish and does not think about others before taking actions. Even her slight insight at some point is short lived. The end leaves you speechless. Sorry but I cannot recommend this movie. If you're looking for a "How not to clean up in your life" guide then go watch it. ;)
Personally I liked the first movie more. The second movie starts kinda slow and unspectacular. It gets better in the second half but can't keep up with the first one. There were much less comedic moments that triggered a laugh in the sequel.
At first I wasn't even sure if I was going to watch this completely after seeing the first two episodes and were about to drop it. Now I'm glad I didn't as it managed to entertain me and I ended up liking it.
I'm far from being a medical profession but still, I do know a bit about medical stuff so maybe I'm more difficult to please when watching a drama with medical theme and tend to be also more critical.
While I cringed here and there about some things that just didn't seem logical to me the drama was enjoyable in total.
I didn't know and haven't seen the Japanese Original from 2009 when I watched the Korean Remake so that's possibly why I was more compliant than other reviewers who watched the remake after the original. Still, now that I watched it I have to adjust the rating. The Japanese Original is indeed better.
The Korean Remake is definitely not bad but it included an unnecessary second male lead to cause a "dramatic" love triangle and that was just dumb. The story doesn't need such nonsense and it made things just worse in the remake, things that would've been fine without this element that Korean Scriptwriters seem to love but is mostly annoying to no end, at least for me. The storyline is really interesting on its own and doesn't need any adjustments in my opinion. The J-Drama has some depth that lacks in the Korean Remake which is sad cause it gave the drama so much.
I like the characters and think the actors did a great job. The medical theme is not perfectly accurate but quite good and I've seen worse.
The whole time travel, parallel universe stuff was a bit confusing towards the end and I have to admit that at some point I lost focus and didn't care much about how it would be explained in the end. As anticipated the explanation wasn't really satisfying anyway so I didn't dwell on it. It was more logical in the J-Drama and I think it might've been better to just keep that instead of changing it to something that is confusing.
The music was not really outstanding and sometimes it felt a bit out of place and was not matching the scene but it wasn't really throwing me out of the scene anytime so it's okay.
Despite it's flaws I like the drama and enjoyed watching it. I think it's worth a watch if you enjoy historical medical drama like me, but I would recommend watching it before the Japanese Original because the Korean Remake has some changes and most of them are not good but rather the opposite.
For me it's perfect proof that sometimes remakes are not needed and that an original is still better. Truth is, that it's hard to do something better what is already very good. In this case the attempt failed. I probably won't rewatch the remake again, at least not completely but instead picking the scenes I liked.
I still give it a solid 6 stars rating, cause it gave me a good time when I first watched it.
I watched this drama because it seemed interesting and I wanted to see more of Zhu Yilong after watching Guardian.
Usually I don't like love triangle stories or those where two guys fight over a girl. This time I made an exception and I'm glad that I did. Overall I enjoyed watching this drama though I grew to hate Xu Xing Cheng.
It was hard to watch how the friendship between Luo Fu Sheng and Xu Xing Cheng went downhill and how corrupt and out of his mind Xing Cheng got during the course of the drama. There were many moments where I thought he must come to his senses and that no one could forget a relationship like those of brothers.
While I'm not happy about it I like how Kevin Chu portrayed his character so well. He is capable of showing the depth of a human soul and makes the development of his character convincing.
For at least half the drama Tian Ying has no idea what she really wants which made it sometimes tedious to watch and it had this typical "saying clearly what you want could ease half of the dramatic tension". I hate this in dramas because it makes an otherwise good scene or even story look pretty artificial.
The 40 episodes seem too long for the historical storyline but too short for the whole drama. The main protagonists of the story playing in the present remain blank compared to the historical ones as they only appear in the first and last episode. I wish the script had given them more screen time so they have had a chance to develop. Because they lack this time the ending seems rushed and it's not as satisfying as it could be which is a pity.
The setting in the China Republican Era was something new for me but nice to watch.
All the actors did a great job and create a good overall image. The music was nothing special and didn't stuck in my head.
I would recommend this drama as it does have a nice storyline and great actors that made it a pleasure to watch.
Specially for fans of Zhu Yilong it's a must watch as he have a loveable character here that is among my favorites.
I first watched the Korean remake of JIN and found it enjoyable but now that I watched the original I understand why watchers mostly prefer the Japanese one. JIN is doing everything right and I hardly have anything to complain about, beside the fact that even though it has two seasons I want more.
The main storyline is easy to summarize but interesting with mystery and suspense which makes it a good watch. I kept watching and watching and forgetting time. You get a wonderful view into the Edo period and great setting. The costumes are beautiful and overall everything looks coherent. The story isn't finished with this first season so it's understandable why it ends open. It's an end that makes you curious for the next season.
The actors were all new to me, I haven't seen any of their other works yet. They immediately got me and I now have a few more favorites on my list. For me Osawa Takao stand out as he truly is JIN. I liked how much Jin fears about possibly changing the future with his actions while he's struggling with his ethics of being a doctor. This conflict is well portrayed and adds to the depth the drama has.
Saki is such a lovely character and I enjoyed the scenes with her. Ayase Haruka both perfectly captured Saki's innocence when she didn't know something and determination when it came to learning more about medicine.
The other characters and actors also left an impression and it was a joy to watch them.
In comparison to the Korean version where I mentioned that the music was sometimes out of place, the music of JIN always merged good with the scenes and is also recognizable. It's not a soundtrack I would listen to on its own but it completes the drama.
The rewatch value of this drama is high for me. I already caught myself rewatching particular scenes and ending up watching the whole episode cause I can't stop so it's definitely not the last time I watch it. It made it straight into my favorites list.
Overall I can only recommend this drama. It's a must watch for everyone who likes historical or medical dramas. Even if you're not into medical or historical drama it's worth a try. As for me I think this drama has this certain something that you can't name but feel it's there.
I started this drama and was really enjoying it for the first half. Ru Xiao Lan accidentally time travels in the past and turns into a cat. I absolutely loved this part of the story. But sadly it lacked through the later episodes. The so called villains give the feeling of being plain fillers so the story is not purely sweet and romantic. Which would have been okay for me if they wouldn't be so pointless. They are supposed to be mysterious and threatening but then never seen again. Not to mention scenes that end abruptly and then the setting is changed and you're left with questions.
The cast and acting is good. The male lead and female lead have a lovely chemistry that I liked a lot which kind of saved the drama for me and made me want to finish it even though the later episodes almost let me loose interest. I like the cute romance of Ru Xiao Lan and Qing Mo Yan. Sadly the side characters are superficial at best. You don't get to know more about them, which often made it hard for me to comprehend their actions.
The music is okay, nothing outstanding but fitting.
I wouldn't rewatch this drama except for the cute scenes between Qing Mo Yan and Ru Xiao Lan. While it started really good and promising it sadly couldn't keep it.
I recommend this drama if you look for something short and cute in between since the episodes are only about 25 minutes short. Don't have high expectations though.
