The Witcher: 1x04 Of Banquets, Bastards and Burials

This is the first episode I’ve thoroughly enjoyed. Great story progression, things are starting to come together. I really like that we jump between different points in time. Yennefer is probably my favorite part of the series so far.

Mindhunter: 2x02 Episode 2

After being a bit let down by the first episode this one is right back on track, the Berkowitz interview was great, the sequence with Kevin was incredibly intense, had me on the edge of my seat and I just love the team working together analyzing and categorizing the criminal's mind. Wonderful episode, exactly why I love this show so much.

Well, that was disappointing. I expected to love this movie but was instead left furious by the end of it. I'm surprised not more people are pointing out how incredibly unlikeable Eilis is in the final third. I wouldn't have minded a good old love triangle but this was just poorly executed. The way Eilis treats Tony the second she left was totally uncalled for, her motivations unclear. What suddenly makes her remember that OPS she has a husband back in the US is a wannabe blackmailer old lady? Okay. While the final scene is really beautiful, well shot, touching, it just leaves me unsatisified; thinking Tony deserves better. . This could have been an 8/10, if it wasn't for Eilis' character flaws. I really enjoyed the general theme of the movie and the decision she made in the end. 6.5/10.

Velvet Buzzsaw

6.5/10 This could have been an interesting dissection of the art world, shallowness, pretentiousness and the rights of an artist. In contrast to other reviews I think the film did a few things right, but unfortunately lost direction half way through (or never really had any in the first place, I'm not quite sure) so at the end you just ask yourself "what was the point?" and forget about it within a few minutes, which might just be the worst critic: it's forgettable. But even in a mediocre film like this one Jake Gyllenhaal manages to shine.

Brokeback Mountain

Probably my favorite movie of all time. It's such a special and tragic story, gets me every time I watch it.
