It reminds me quite a bit in tone of the film "The death of Stalin", with the surrealism of some scenes bordering on the ridiculous and, even so, being enjoyable.
Winslet is great once again.
I read the book "¡Viven!" and I still have it engraved, then I saw the movie shot in '93 and the same thing happens to me with many scenes and, now, with "La sociedad de la nieve", I have to admit that it has managed to transmit me even more the human part, outside the spectacular and epic. The stories, the doubts, the fears and their desperation and their struggle (not only for survival).
I was reluctant, despite the good opinion I have of Bayona, about retelling the story but I think it has been a success and I understand why the survivors and their families are so satisfied with the tone he has given to the film that is completely away from being a remake.
2023-2049. It's supposed to have been 26 years for everyone in that era and no one even bothered to say that they had to at least pretend to have aged with some makeup?
I get the feeling they don't care about anything anymore.
I certainly didn't expect that.
The first chapter left me curious to see where the plot was headed, the second confirms that so far it's worth it.
If the first chapter had been a good introduction and the second had raised the level, the third chapter raises it even more to place "Garcia!" as a great show.
The whole final scene deserves a round of applause.

There were already things that were surprising me because of the direction the series was taking, reminding me that it's not only about the clash of cultures in time but also about the science fiction behind time travel, but I certainly didn't expect this ending.
You can like more or less how the chapter develops, the script, the performances; but the best thing is, after several chapters, start to recognize the same "characters" commenting each one, always crying, either because the show talked about vaccines, about racism, about.... And no matter how much they belittle it the next week there they are again crying.
They must have a very sad life to try to get attention in such a desperate way, almost as if that need for attention has become their addiction and they need a new shot.
Those kinds of responses are the ones that most confirm the awful reality the show denounces.
It may not be an original idea but the animation is excellent and in something so short it manages to create moments of tension as in "the hand".
I couldn't stop thinking about Lovecraft.
They deserve a movie or at least a chance to develop their story.
There is no better self-description than by those who weep from the comfort of their privileges because what bothers them most is that inequality, discrimination and abuse are shown in a TV show.
This is not a Disney show. Much darker than I expected, better than I expected.
The contrast between the almost innocent music of some moments, including the opening, and what you are seeing happening manages to make it even more twisted.
A good start that leaves you wanting to see where the plot goes.

There are times when the chapter doesn't even seem to be from the same series because of the way things are narrated and the maturity and crudity.
