There's heart and care underneath the crass humour. While it's certainly not an animation for everyone, when it "clicks", it really becomes an obsession.
The pacing is a big issue though, likely caused by the fact there's few episodes.
A DnD campaign brought to life as an animation. It follows the tropes of an RPG campaign, the obstacles always seem insurmountable, but our heroes always seem to push through.
Which can sometimes feel jarring, especially in season 2.
It's a difficult movie that perhaps warrants a rewatch to catch on on what one might have missed.
The title says it all. Guns Akimbo, pew pew. It tries to be a commentary on social media too, I suppose? But honestly it's very surface level and feels disjointed from the over-the-top premise making it harder to suspend disbelief.
All in all, enjoyable.
Though it hides behind a veneer of ridiculous, crass humour, it appears to have a heartwarming story to tell. Though by the end it loses some of its charm with a rather odd finale that puts the whole film's message up on its head.
A cute series of comedy shorts, depicitng everyday lives of gods. Very pleasant, warm style. Definitely worth a watch in some downtime.
While overall an enjoyable nazi killing spree, the movie could use with a slightly toned down plot armor of the protagonist, which hampered the experience.
The plot really feels like an afterthought to glue the video game references. It's a treat for fans of the franchise, but newcomers will feel lost.
Despite that, it's still an enjoyable movie, for people who know Mario.
A pretty spectacle with little substance and tons of fanservice. A movie that tries to make bold decisions, only to backpedal from it a scene later.
The more you think about the story, the less sense it makes. Pretty scenes make this utter nonsense watchable at least.
It's a charming story, carrying a pleasant message that will resonate well with kids. However there are movies that do it better.
It's not a big story, with high stakes, grand adventures and satisfying payoff. It's a rather mellow, down to earth film.
Focusing on the relationship between the heroes, the hardships they endure due to their differences.
It knows where to tug on the heart strings, making it a rather impactful movie, which easily means it's my most favorite of the Disney animations. Perhaps even animation as a whole. Despite being, ultimately, a rather simple animation.
