Don't worry if you know nothing about League of Legends. Solid character development and world-building make Arcane an enjoyable watch regardless of having no background knowledge of the universe.

I can't even begin to put into words here but the prosthetic and makeup division is not only good, it is groundbreaking. The bodies on the later stages of radiation poisoning were absolutely terrifying, it literally gave me chills in the spine, when it shows the firefighter and the wife inside the plastic.
An unnecessary and well made epilogue for one of the best characters from Breaking Bad. Aaron Paul is great and I loved getting more time with Jesse Pinkman and some of the other characters.
So far I think the show is very good. I feel like I am watching an updated version of Skins (UK) for 2019. Is that a bad thing? No. I think this show has its own stories to tell, but with similar themes. Labrinth's musical direction and original works are superb. I am going to continue watching.
A dark and interesting speculation on a wold long past the singularity, where human consciousness can be downloaded and plugged into different bodies (or sleeves). What becomes of humanity in a world with such power and an ever widening gulf between wealth and poverty?
An exceptional episode. It kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time. The scenes in orbit were just breathtaking and also the scene on the moon when Ed meets the Russian Cosmonaut. How intense was that. This has blockbuster quality. And finally the ending was completely unexpected for me. This surely will have dire consequences.
They always say “read the book first” but sometimes it is fascinating watching a film version without any knowledge of the text it is based on. Book fans can get quite agitated at seeing their vision or interpretation of the book trampled on in some way but at the same time if the film doesn’t capture the essence of the book in some way, then what’s the point ? Looking at this purely as a film, it is enjoyable to watch, but what is a little disappointing is Luhrmann seems to be trying to recapture much of what made Moulin Rouge so great and repeating himself, sometimes successfully and sometimes less so. The fast paced editing, visual style, music and direction captures the decadence, glamour and excess of Gatsby’s world in much the same way, though equally this heightened anachronistic interpretation of the 1920s will no doubt delight or irritate in much the same way too. Both DiCaprio and Maguire are excellent as Gatsby and Carroway and the strongest moments of the film are their scenes together. Indeed, the exploration of the character of Gatsby himself, his motivations, hopes and backstory and importantly Carroway’s interpretation of him form much of what works well within the film and it was no surprise to learn that these two were cast well before others. Luhrmann evokes a great sense of mystery and intrigue over Gatsby's character initially, gradually revealing elements over the course of the film and DiCaprio's presence and charisma serve the character well. The overarching narration that served Moulin Rouge so well is also present, however here it feels heavy handed and ultimately unnecessary (despite some clever visual trickery with words from the book), with Luhrmann seemingly unwilling to let the audience take their own interpretation of the story from what is presented. Furthermore, whilst Mulligan is fine as the central female character, it is difficult to care about her other than through Gatsby’s motivation and Edgerton’s performance veers towards pantomime on occasion, another stylistic conceit seemingly lifted from Moulin Rouge. These two characters may well serve to underline one of the film’s themes at the end but it makes it very difficult to accept Gatsby’s motivation other than through DiCaprio’s admittedly great performance. A partial return to form then for Luhrmann after Australia, but not wholly successful either.

Not the strongest episode of the season, definitely a bit bleak for a season finale but still enjoyable to watch with some both funny and sad moments. The overall second season was good and I enjoyed it.
I am looking forward to season three and I hope that people responsible for music are going to raise the bar once again ;)

The Mandalorian started out OK, but ended up as some half-baked, lazily written show that exist merely to lure parents to justify a Disney+ subscription. Kids get the usual Disney contents, moms get Baby Yoda, dads get Star Wars nerdy reference. The show almost feels like being made by a bunch of fanfiction writers with familiarity of the setting but zero sense of screen writing.
Nothing wrong with liking it, it's just the show appears to be all style and no substance.
Storyline shows no complexity at all. In fact, most of them are fillers. You can skip 4 of 8 episodes and you'll still understand the story just fine. Characters are completely uninteresting. None of them are developed. None of them had nuances: protagonists are morally good heroes; antagonists are one dimensional evils. The show relies only on a cute muppet and flashy action, but has zero substance. Had a potential great world-building with some details, but they chose to abandon it for rule of cool (and cute).
The "it's Star Wars, so it'll be simple" excuse commonly said by the series' defenders doesn't hold up if you actually consider other Star Wars titles such as Knights of the Old Republic, Republic Commando, Jedi Academy, Thrawn trilogy, the original and Tartakovsky's Clone Wars, and so on. Those titles are known for having remarkable storytelling; something that The Mandalorian doesn't have for its poverty of creative vision.
Seeing a film that's won the Palme d'or at Cannes or Best Picture Oscar is like drinking a bottle of ridiculously expensive wine: with every sip you ask yourself over and over again if it deserves the price. Fortunately, Parasite is so good you won't be drinking very long because you'll be drunk on its power soon enough.
A film that crosses genres so many times it leaves a permanent mark, Parasite is a clever story performed wonderfully and directed to perfection.
Intelligent, twisting, gripping, well written and well acted. Definitely worth a watch. Netflix gives you options - mine was the original German with English subtitles. That’s my recommendation.
Just watched the pilot and I gotta be honest, this is the best pilot of any serie I have ever watched. Can't wait for future episodes.

As a BB fan am I glad this movie got made? I guess so.

Quite possibly one of the most important sci fi sitcoms to date. Really paved the way for stuff like Rick and Morty.
A beautiful, twisted and bleak story filled with awesome moments, music and cinematography. It shows an alternative love story completely different from all those cliché-dramatic moments overused in Hollywood. Just 3h20min of fun, love and crude humor of two characters that love each other but not the world around them. The ending is beautifully shot, showing the danger and automatic assumption that James is a psychopath. His narration, followed by him running for his short life while being on his birthday is so heartbreaking that made me cry in the last second. A boy that had no feelings, made a choice of love.

the season was weak, but this and USS Callister are genuine GEMS, this build up perfectly, it's a rollercoaster of emotions and has such a perfect ending, devastating but somehow relieving.

Absolutely fantastic. I will admit that I hesitated at first, but then I thought why not give it a try. Gloomy and eerie, but good at it. The music throughout the series is really well chosen; it fits perfectly well. The writing is also top notch, as is the acting. You can either have it in English sound or in German sound with English subtitles. Honestly I wasn't bothered at all with the English sound, so if that's your thing you will be able to enjoy the series just fine (maybe you'll also be slightly less distracted as opposed to reading subtitles). Personally I chose the German sound, as it felt more natural.
Honestly, give it a try. Might very well be the best series I've watched this year.
EDIT: Binged season 2 in a sitting. Just wow. This review doesn't do it justice. And the casting...I mean, I totally thought old Ulrich was the result of CGI or something. Season 2 is best thing I've watched this year and last year included (ever?).
It was alright. Nothing special, no real surprises, everything you can imagine that happens to Jessie after breaking bad happens. Nothing surprised me here. I'm not sure this movie needed to be made.
Claire Temple showing up was really awesome! Loved the mentions to her other 'special' friend and her interactions with Jess!
