American Gods: Season 2

This season is quite bad

@p-kmetski Agreed. Can‘t believe it could get that low, but everything, literally everything about it is just dull now and nothing more. Acting is also only over-acting now.

1899

so disappointing, whole Matrix II level with big words sentences with no meaning just science on your face and fancy terms that make no sense just to make you feel dumb and that this is a great show sci-fi. But it all collapses through the awful ending. MY GOD why did they do that so un-creative and copy paste "Life On Mars" ending. You know why ? Because they didn't know how to explain all the things, so the only nice way out of there and take that viewer was that explanation.

8 hours gone out of the window.
If i read another blog "1899 totaly blows the mind of its viewers netflix has done it again" i will cancel my Internet connection.

@great_vc For me, it started pretty nice and interesting but I also felt that they lost vision in the depths they were fishing in. There are things that are hard to comprehend, like those ship survivors being told that this was not real, and them insisting that it was even though weird (data?) spikes are coming out of each wall and people walking around like zombies, and teleportations and other funny things happening.

There are of course some catchy tunes but even they are way too mainstream, and often a bit blunt. Dark, for me, had more consistent depth and creative ideas that were thought through to the end. I feel like they wanted to fill the void that Dark's absence left but simply failed at it. It happens.

So I totally agree with your findings.

Obi-Wan Kenobi: 1x05 Part V

Loved this episode!

They finally explained Reva's character and it finally makes sense. Now that her future is uncertain, this is where the fun begins! That scene where Vader was just toying with Reva was awesome!

But I have one slight complaint about this episode: Seriously, is it just me or Anakin in the flashbacks seems a bit too old?

I believe they tried not to CGI anything about Anakin and applied only makeup. I cherish their attempts and it felt as good as it was possible. I mean, both actors had aged and not everything can be turned off like a switch. ;)

Homeland: 8x11 The English Teacher

What on earth is this? Nothing makes sense this season. Carrie wants to give the identity of a secret agent to the enemy? That's treason!

@atlantis14 I suppose that's the conflict that they're trying to display here. Either betray one or two people and be marked as dishonorable, distrustful and the likes or let loose a war because the leaders are too stubborn to leave their tiny micro cosmos of egocentric childplay and sacrifice everything and everyone in the name of loyalty. Even though she didn't say it with most intense emotional input, she already stated that she didn@t want to betray them but she also asked what other choice there was. I too don't see any choice even though doing this breaks all the hearts we can grasp. Those are people who love and respect each other more than most people do because most people have it rather easy and they clearly don't.

Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

I really tried hard to like this show but after 5 or 6 episodes I gave up. The acting is poor and the scripts are dull. I like superheros a lot but I couldn't stand more of this series.

Some said that the second half is getting better but I can't remember anything from the episodes I watched because it was dreadful.

It could have been something great...

Kinda felt the same way, yet I kept watching and it really got better. I hope you can make it as well as it pays its debt. ;)

Fans of Smallville may recognise the outside of the Queen family home. It was the same building used as the Luthor mansion in Smallville.

It's also Charles Xavier's "school" mansion in the X-Men movies. ;)

Thor: The Dark World

What was the timeline of this movie? All the stuff with Jane on Asgard seemed like it took weeks, but then when we see Darcy next she is just figuring out where Selvig is. It seemed like a day, and they talked like it as a short period as well.
Also, where was SHIELD? Given the New York invasion, you think they would be on top of this stuff. Instead they let Selvig (a vital asset at the time of the Avengers) and Jane Foster (the expert in inter-dimensional travel and known interest of Thor's) run around England with no apparent supervision. Jane talks like she didn't like being oppressed by them, but Thor 1 ended with them supporting every aspect of her research. Even if she did escape them, they were just going to let her go and don't bother keeping tabs. Also that air-plane in Agents of Shield seems to be able to go anywhere in the world in a few hours but they don't bother to stop by and check on the anomalies that are clearly effecting London pretty badly. They had weeks to get there (or maybe it was hours, no clue).
I am a terrible nitpicker, these points probably aren't important.

No, you are probably very right about just everything you said since I can totally relate to that. I am also watching Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and that airplane thought was in my mind as well. There are one helluva plot holes and many things weren't really thought through, but that's the kind of downside one has to expect from superhero movies/tv shows.
However, it was not totally bad, it's still a great movie if one does not expect top-notch storyboards. ;)
