That shit went hard, damn.
I don't think I've seen anything like that since The Raid movies? While it's not all on THAT level, nothing really ever came close. And first time (full movie) director Dev Patel? Mad props yo.

Please break the chains.
Everyone decries this as an overlong episode of Black Mirror but... is that a bad thing necessarily?
It may not have explored all the nooks and crannies of the issues with what was going on in the movie but I am fine with that, that's what we have Black Mirror for. On the other hand we have another top performance by Gael Garcia Bernal and Renata Reinsve was great too. "That one scene" had me floored tho. I'm a sucker for that and would have had me rate this even higher if they hadn't ruined the ending... they had a perfect opportunity to end on a "fade to black" but they had to come back and make it... worse? I am not yet sure if I like the ending or not. Frustrating.
Yes yes, it's Interstellar but from Netflix...
But honestly I kinda liked it? A retro-futuristic Czech spaceflight with Adam Sandler delivering a decent acting job that got me more intersted in the book it's based on - which apparently has a very different ending too? That might be worth a shot!
Hanuš is wonderful tho!
This show/season took a while to get into gear but I honestly didnt hate it. Did not go into it expecting anything mindblowing or groundbreaking anyway so it was fine in the end? The last few episodes were pretty good actually and I mostly watched it for Anna Sawai anyway... and for that it was pretty good. ;)
That was amazingly stupid, I love it!
Edit:
And that after-credits scene made it even better, oh god.
Now if that wasn't one of the best clip episodes ever then I don't know! :D
That ending... lol. What incredible garbage.
Look, I am not the biggest football fan and I couldn't care less about the brits or welsh in particular and all that but THIS is just some damn good TV.
The tension and all, the human stories they tell over the season... absolutely fantastic stuff.
14 Seasons in and they still deliver hilarious episodes!
Absolutely mental. Visually this is shockingly good and the creativity & creature design is beyond anything I've seen recently. Who came up with all that must be on some powerful drugs or insanely creative. This feels like a weird alien baby between the movie "Mind Game" and Adventure Time.
3 episodes in and I think I love it!
Wonder what happens when they domesticate cats!
That interview or rather talk with John Mulaney was one of Stephens finest.
Glad John got his shit together - that The Handmaiden story had me in stitches.
Funny and poignant episode... did not expect that from this show somehow haha. Well done!
I pitty the fools that do not appreciate a good musical episode!
This was out of this world! ;)
Yeah honestly this wasnt all that bad, certainly didnt deserve to be wiped from the face of the earth or all of streaming.
It felt like a Disneyfied version of Stand by Me updated for a new generation of viewers and I'm all for that.
Watched 24% of A24 produced/distributed material haha, seems appropriate!
This documentary may not have been treading new ground regarding Michael J. Fox's history BUT the way it was edited and presented was outstanding. Wholeheartedly recommended.
I think with this China has reached #3 in my unofficial "animated movie country" ranking. Before there was a tossup between France and the UK+Ireland but damn. This was not just absolutely stunning on a technical level but also impressed story-wise and what they had the balls to do in a Chinese movie to begin with. The lighting and environments in this were bordering on Photorealism and this contrasted with the "unique" character design might not be everyone's cup of tea but it was honestly stunning.
Not to mention the animation of the lions heads, that was just something else.
Impressive work and another Chinese Director and Animation Studio to keep an eye on.
It's been exactly 12 years since the Tôhoku earthquake and tsunami and I can hardly imagine how devastating a tragedy that has been. I can also only imagine how it would've been seeing this movie in a Japanese cinema all these years later, maybe even with ppl that were the age of Suzume when all this happened back then...
As someone not from Japan that was not involved in the catastrophe 12 years ago, this is a beautifully moving work that tries to express and process a national trauma in its own way and I think it succeeded at that. One of Shinkai's best work and very well worth a watch.
Can Hasan please be the new permanent host? Or get a new show of his own again? God damn it....
After dropping the show at the end of season 26 because I got a bit tired of Noah, Hasan taking over for a week is a good reason to have another look. :)
Absolutely stunning visual masterpiece that is looking for an equal, not only in the chinese animated movie space.
The story and themes were also deeper than expected, just like the sea I guess!
If you can experience this in a cinema, preferably in 3D even, it should be experienced that way!
Oh well, gotta hand it to them, certainly the best episode/my favourite yet.
Yeah I figured out what was going to happen at the end but that was still pretty damn good... and that "bromance" arc was also pretty neat. Overall more than one would expect from a show like this I'd say!
A love-story to the place and people that made Takeshi Kitano Takeshi Kitano. Well done movie that made me quite emotional, fans of Kitano or his work should give it a go. :)
2 episodes in and I don't hate it!
Looking at the trailer it looked more than questionable and I just started watching because of Gina Rodriguez AND Hannah Simone but yeah.... those 2 episodes so far were not terrible. It's a really old-school format but the humor is ok and the characters are better than what the trailer might make them look like at first. I doubt that this will go past a single season but that might be fine actually.
Edit:
First season done and who would've thought this silly little show could be so good. :)
So yeah, don't be turned off by the trailer or anything, if you're in the mood for a new short and entertaining, funny show, give a few episodes of this a go, you might quite enjoy it! I know I did!
Edit2:
The show apparently has been picked up for a 2nd season! Wonder how that will pan out but now that the writer strike is also over it might even make it for a comeback next spring? We'll see.
I usually do not watch TV episodes till after the credits roll but there is actually an after credits scene here that noone should miss!
Hahaha omg that whole election was so incredibly stupid, just like this whole show.... I love it so much lol.
And all those cannibal puns... jesus christ. xD
Aaaah these Georgie x Mandy developments make me very happy!
Georgie has grown so much, he will be a good dad~
Denji, don't stick your dick in crazy.
