This was a delight. I could see it becoming one of my favourites on a rewatch.
This was great, but I'm not sure it can quite compare to the fantastic book of which it is based. One of the stand-out features of the book was the detailed descriptions of various scents. It used evocative language to make you envision all the smells Jean-Baptiste was taking in. As gorgeous and gripping as this film is, I don't think it manages to capture the essence of scent in the same way that the book did. Though to be fair, this is something I believe is likely almost impossible to replicate on screen.
haha there's a big monkey
It's far from perfect, but there's much to love here. I'm always a sucker for unconventional twists on what are usually pretty tired film ideas (which most vampire stories tend to be at this point). This was a welcome surprise.
I knew nothing about this going in, and I'd recommend everyone else try to do it the same way. Do not watch the trailer. Just go in blind and enjoy.
All I could think about this entire movie was just how awful it must be to watch a tennis match live and to have to keep turning your head side-to-side for 90 minutes.
This film almost makes me wish Australia was real
Endlessly entertaining, with great action, a fantastic score, impressive set-pieces, and what is probably Chris Hemsworth's best performance yet. Yet, I don't think it even comes close to Fury Road.

I usually love nonsense films, but this just didn't do it for me at all.
Hm. Not great, not bad. We'll see how this goes.
Might rewatch this once a week while dangerously drunk or high until I start to enjoy it ironically. After a year, I might call this the best movie ever made.
