I enjoyed that a lot more than I expected to. I was nervous about them reworking the Klingons (again), but found it interesting instead.
I don't like the main title sequence but can appreciate that they wanted to try something different for the 5th spin-off series. Perhaps they'll change it every season like Outlander and The 100. I like the main character, I'll just need to get used to the ridiculousness of her name being Michael. Almost every series has a main character that is annoying beyond words. Looks like Stretch is this seasons Neelix/Quark/Crusher/Reed.
LOVED the intro! Let's do that for every season premiere and finale from now on.
Why are the fairies such assholes? And why is Julia, of all people, the only one left who can still do magic?
It all started somehow OK but after a time it evolved to an ordinary space movie shot in a room with long talks. No excitement at all. It does not worth to watch. And how the hell did that guy end up screwed to that small O2 recovery unit? There is no specific answer to that in whole movie.
3/10
Ok, so let me see if I got it clear:
Writers took seasons (meaning years) to let Lena (Kara's best friend) gets into the "Super friends" circle, but it magically just took William A DAY to get in??? Literally he just had to ask for. ARE YOU SERIOUS?
A reporter gets full access and knowledge of the tower, resources, strategies and the people of the circle because they need the "approval of public opinion".
Please tell me that I am not the only one who think how ridiculous and reckless sounds that.
"Maybe you should think about holstering that thing" - Johnny
A great start into season 6 :) Nothing too special but a nice introduction with a few new elements and a lot of awesome CGI scenes.
It often made me miss Alex though but that seems intended.
I'm also curious to see what Avasarala has in store and hope that we'll get a few interesting scenes at the new colony (where that scene with the little girl at the beginning took place). I guess that place should become quite relevant during this season. I just hope that five more episodes will be enough to provide a satisfying conclusion for this show.
[7.5/10] Laris. Laris is my favourite character. "Cheeky feckers!"
We are being given a slow burn mystery and I'm all up for it. Outside of the flashback to the Mars disaster that started the episode, there wasn't a single action scene for 40 odd minutes here; instead we were treated to conversations and a clash of personalities across the characters. Patrick Stewart is terrific but so are the actors facing off against him. This is diving into some deep back story from the show's history of Data, artificial intelligence, Romulans and the Borg.
At times the tecnhobabble went a bit too far, but doesn't that make for classic Star Trek? I'm also glad to see that the tradition of high ranking Starfleet personnel being total assholes is still intact.
I wonder if Picard's mysterious illness is the potential neurological disorder that we first learned of back in the TNG finale (in that timeline he contracted Irumodic Syndrome).
Waiting a week for an episode is excruciating. The series is fast pasing, I´m loving it so far
Are you for real right now? Is this where they are going with this?
Yeah, it's totally normal to be promoting an executive assistant to a senior GODAMN partner. And I'm pretty sure 4 out of those 9 firm's COO's had a better degree and obviously more experience that you Donna -_-
I'm sorry, I don't hate Donna but this story line is BS. That' not how partnership works at all.
What i expected: This show is about a terrorist attack, that wipes out the entire US government. So it will be mainly about hunting the (muslim) terrorists, like in 24. And a President, who does everything to stay in power, like House of Cards.
What it's actually about: How terrorist attacks affect Muslim-Americans, how a right-wing, islamophobic governor tries to establish a police state. About a naive, but lovable president, who takes time for his family, while his wife is kick-ass lawyer. About a president, who tries to find the terrorists, but doesn't want to attack someone without being 100% sure.
It's not a dystopian vision of the USA after a devastating attack. It's an utopia!
Great season premiere. It's good to have this show back.
Harvey, Jessica and Louis were the best part of this episode. The scenes where they were stoned were absolutely hilarious. I'm still laughing at Harvey asking Louis "Are you a king?". It was totally obvious from the beginning that Louis would have the most money of them all.
I really hoped that Mike's cellmate wouldn't turn out to be a dick. Well, no such luck. I guess we can expect Mike to get his ass seriously kicked soon.
The music was outstanding. I don't know how this show does it, but they nail the soundtrack every time.
As always, there was also some confusing legal mumbo-jumbo that I probably wouldn't understand even if it were in my native language. Oh, well. I got the gist of their plan, so that's what counts.
I'm looking forward to next week.
Such a weak episode after a promising previous episode :persevere:
Entertaining movie with an interesting story. The movie had more depths in the characters than I expected, which was nice. The acting was good and the fighting performances were exciting. Overall it was great to see Charlize Theron kick ass again and I guess we'll see more of it in the sequel which clearly is already in the works.
The Amazon money is really showing. The entire season and especially Ilus looked insanely beautiful.
Can't wait for Season 5. Going to be fantastic.
We hope that our early successes make up for the embarrassing mess we've become. Like Facebook or America.
What a nail-biting, plot-twisting episode, and it's a crime that four seasons in Kristen Bell hasn't been nominated for an Emmy yet. Her imitating Ted Danson in evil laugh and speech pattern from Season 1's finale is so perfect and spot-on.
I'd rate this higher if it had more of the Nikita and less of the West Wing stuff.
I particularly enjoyed the Ford advert three quarters of the way through, it really had me thinking it was part of the plot for a second. Bravo! (/sarcasm)
The mom annoys me. The dad should stop trying to save her lol.
There aren't many seasons of shows of which I've liked every single episode, but that most definitely was the case with the first season of Lucifer. The characters, the plot, the humor... I loved every second of it. I'm already very excited for season 2!
"I love roasting Nazis"
Rory saying that just makes it better haha
Omg Patty that was just RUDE

I shouldn't have watched the entire season in one day but I regret nothing
This series is great for the typical sci-fi watcher, and is a sort of campy, yet a little darker, feel. If you like Stargate series with a dash of SGU, then this show is for you. The pilot and first part of season 1 start off slow, with character building and just getting an overall feel for the setting. This is what happens with all new series. Luckily, they ease you in to a very good mystery by the end of season 1 and should continue to make for a great series.
As visually spectacular as you would expect from a Ridley Scott film (although the 3D is terrible and best avoided), this is equally hampered by a similar issue that plagued Kingdom of Heaven - it feels like there is a stronger director's cut waiting in the wings. The opening portion of the film, detailing Moses' life as an Egyptian prince feels rushed and disjointed and it is really only when he is exiled that the film settles into a much stronger edit. Bale gives a strong performance throughout as a more conflicted central character than previous depictions of Moses and there is an interesting choice to introduce a certain element of ambiguity to the more overt religious aspects of the story - the film treads a fine line between suggesting natural causes and more spiritual ones throughout. This makes for a much more interesting take on a very familiar story, but equally it is likely that a future cut will vastly improve the disjointed nature of some of the film.
