Let’s see whether that other party comes back at some point. They could learn a thing or two about how to survive in a dungeon.
“Kensuke”
I felt bad when he ripped the shield/eggs away I guess I'll be staying a vegetarian no matter how good the food looks when it's done cooking lol
This isn't a cooking show, this is a Souls-like!
(And Laios made a friend, so cute!)
This show is getting deliciously hilarious.
I love how inspiring the food making is, like in most food anime, despite the ingredients being harvested off of fantastical dungeon beasts. Yet they are relatable enough to be tried with earthly foods.
It is giving Ghibli feast!
It's been a while since I last watch such a light and fun anime, and I enjoy it so far.
I did not see that coming. I sure do love me some confident strong akemi tho.
I honestly thought it couldn’t get better than last episode. I was wrong, it just keeps getting better.
I wasn't sure if this was going to be an action show or more character driven and this episode very clearly went with "we don't care if it makes sense if it looks cool". Not a bad choice but weird to do six episodes in!
Holy Shit this might be the best episode of the entire season.
The action sequences are top notch, music is great, runtime is crisp and the tension is palpable.
"Why tell a deadman the future?"
I couldn't have asked for a more fitting finale for this "piece of an art" mini-series. The bar was set high. It could've been either like the GoT finale or Breaking Bad finale. So glad they stayed consistent from start to finish. Undoubtedly, this ranks among the greatest miniseries ever produced.
Many people may be dissatisfied with the finale if they expected to watch an all-out war, which contradicts the entire idea of the show.
This is one of the best things I've ever seen! Framing current and past events, which themselves tie into each other, within a Bunraku performance that mirrors both stories that also turns out to take place in-universe and after the fact is a master class in storytelling. Everyone involved in this series deserves multiple awards.
There is something strange when she did the sign for her
'One thing no man can resist. Himself.'
Ugh, Ming-Na Wen nailed Madame Kaji.
The show is faithful in most aspects. In some it chooses not to be. That could be why some people involved with the animated show left over creative differences.
Which does sound like Netflix. When they stopped wanting to be faithful to the Witcher. Which cost them Henry Cavill.
Not having Ang learn water bending does sound like a Netflix thing. I am sure he will learn it though. Maybe they didn’t want to rush it. Since in the movie Ang did master water bending in like a minute lol.
Only partially in and I'll add as it goes on.
- He arrived in Northpole and Aang didn't do single moment of Waterbending.. Aka he's magically gonna learn it in the moment of need...
All the acting falls flat.. Almodt every single actor did an aweful job this episode... The only one who remains consistent is Iroh.
Sokka and the princess kissing out of nowhere
Lighting effect got introduced at a terrible moment on top of looking terrible
The longer the show goes on the more it seems to suffer from rushed content. It's slowly falling apart.
What is this?! They arrived at the north pole and Aang still didn’t train a second waterbending
Weakest episode so far for me, what saved it was the bond between Iroh and Zuko, but Katara and Sokka really went through all of that just to slide on the floor really slowly to push Bumi?? Also halfway through the season now and starting to get worried they're gonna skip some amazing episodes from season 1
The fight was absolutely amazing. It damn near looked like a Jackie Chan choreographed fight.
Slightly better and the Kyoshi island people were fantastic. Aang is still overacting though and Katara is like a piece of wood most of the time. They both need to meet somewhere in the middle.
It doesn’t seem to know how cartoony it wants to be and those moments just aren’t landing in live action. Most of that is centred around Aang. Like his laughing in the final scene with them all. Not natural looking at all.
The actor playing Zuko is the most natural of the lot right now
I wasn’t really feeling it but as soon as Kyoshi took over Aang and annihilated Zhou & his crew, I got goosebumps. Still a little bit disappointed that there wasn’t a single line where Sokka mocks Suki for being warrior & a girl at the same time. And her removing her makeup already at this stage, ruins something else in the future. But anyway. It’s getting better… casting is again top notch.
The only thing I'm not liking about this show, is how many episodes we have left till the end, this story has been nothing but Epic
“If you look and see nothing… you must simply look harder.” I love Kiku’s bits of wisdom
Ok ish episode. I mean I waited 19 years for this since I was 11 years old. And I got pretty hyped up the last past weeks. But I don’t know what it is, I didn’t feel much this episode. Don’t get me wrong, visually & casting wise it’s perfect. But Aang talking to Iroh and knowing who he is in episode 1? Doesn’t feel right. Katara can suddenly do some major bending at the ending of the episode and saves the day? Going to the Southern Airtemple for like 5 minutes, while this is like a full and emotional episode in the anime, felt now rushed and didn’t move me at all. In my opinion this episode should have been divided in 2 episodes that are 50 mins each. But it’s still early to tell how everything will play out. Hopefully I am wrong and it will get better. Please let me be wrong.
