The Good: Atmosphere, Wardrobe,
Set Design
Bad: Certain Sexual Elements.
Overall: I wanted it to be better than fair but it wasn't. It felt like I was watching parts from previous films that are supposed to be interesting. It just felt trihard.
Lots of action but I found it boring. The shooting & whipping around in the car 100 times was repetitive. The revenge plot has been done to death but it can still be done well with fresh material. This didn't have any of that!
This is probably the weakest of the series. Tessa is basically non-existent in the movie until the very end. Hardin runs away to an ex flame that is way to nice to him after he did her so dirty. The parents are right, but annoying. I was bored most of the movie and fast forwarded through mundane dialog. The wedding and how they get back together was ungratifying, throughout the series the connections & emotions were what kept me interested, this had none of that.
Probably the most entertaining show I've seen this year so far. I didn't feel the need to fast forward the pacing is perfect. I am older than the target audience but found myself throughly entertained. The time traveling back and forth was done really well. There wasn't a bunch of in your face period era fashion ,or tons of product name drops . The products ,clothes & music served as background without being overly done in your face like Stranger Things ( no offense intended) 8 episodes is definitely not enough for me.
Extremely disappointed. It would have been a great mini series if they just stuck primarily to the plane crash story, instead they did too many unnecessary flashbacks of the office & her Dad & Mom. In one episode it just repeatedly flashes back and forth between the present and before. The talking to the dead guy stuff is something that actually worked. Her getting lost repeatedly was stupid when she could have followed the shoreline. The amount of times she fell was sort of ridiculous unless we are supposed to look at this as an action series. The scenery & acting was good though.
The show is at it's best when Missy Peregrym is the lead actress for the episodes. The show feels flat when she is not showcased. Everything I have ever seen her in she has been thee standout. She is believable, attractive and brings that something extra to every scene. Don't get me wrong the other actors do a great job but Missy is goto . The episodes without her this season make the dynamic feel off. I'm look forward to season 5.
Great fight choreography & kept me entertained throughout. Winstead is definitely a star.
The most pointless film ever made. Skip this & burn it if you happened to buy it on Dvd/Bluray. This is a movie about a guy moaning about his friends being more successful than himself. The only thing that makes him remotely happy is his son possibly going to Harvard,he thinks that will somehow make the last 13 years of his life valid. The ending was a non ending
Wants to be The Big Chill but the script, music & actors are nowhere near charming enough to pull that off
If you are looking for a date or preteen safe family film I am sure this will suffice.
Having said that this was just another movie I've seen 100's of times with updated jokes and current stars. When watching a movie like this you want the story told in a way that makes the trope feel new and refreshing, this film doesn't do that.
Ironically I enjoyed everything but the Music.
I thought all the actors were brilliant, Maddie Ziegler was the standout and proved she can hold it down with the best of them.
About the controversy:
As far as the holding and calming down being controversial I say to each their own. The actors were playing the part of people that had little to 0 knowledge of how to deal with Autism. Zu was an alcoholic that was double her sisters age but has the emotional growth of an 8 year old. If you are portraying someone this way they are going to be messed up and not do everything perfect. The problem with society today is that children & young adults are outraged about everything. People want to rewrite history in films, take out everyones imperfections and make everything hunkeydory. That's just unrealistic & stupid.
I had a 80 something year old Uncle and he was racist against black people, he was wonderful otherwise but do you think at his age you he was going to stop being racist? The man had 80 years of living on me, who am I to tell him how to act. He would do it on his own if he felt the need. I did however tell him to please keep the foul language and raw commentary to himeself when I was around and out of respect I would filter my comments and storytelling for him. Excpecting everything & everyone to be the same is unreasonable . But God gave you freedom to do what you want so if you don't like aspects of this film then don't watch it again. Push the button & keep it movin.
Adding SandOff to my top 10 Genie wishes.
A Masterpiece. The finest film I've seen in years. I keep thinking about sequences from the film and how well they were executed by everyone. Totally Ninja ++++++++
Netflix should sign Kiana Madeira to an exclusive contract a' la Noah Centineo
Season 3 is a Masterpiece
Not sure why but I go back and watch this movie frequently.
I thought it was this generations answer to a Dawsons Creek Romantic buddy movie. I personally think this could have been a successful netflix TV Show. Some of the areas could have been fleshed out more like Elles relationship with her father, while other scenes could have been cut out like the repeated harassing truck drivebyes. It was a cute movie but it did try a bit too hard in spots and kinda left me feeling like I watched a pointless story in the end.
I'll be honest The CW is not a channel that's ever been able to pull me in.I am not a big fan of Superhero shows & shows like Dynasty don't interest me in the slightest but for some reason midway through season 2 of The 100 I decided to check out a few clips on youtube. I have always liked apocalyptic type shows & the ads for The 100 intrigued me. The show was a shock ...I binged the first 2 seasons and caught up quickly, I had never been so surprised by a show before. The characters had so much depth ,every emotion had been laid out correctly (after those first 3 episodes ) Since then every new season has been met with nervous expectation & sincere joy . I can't wait to see what this last season brings! I hope the potential spinoffs get picked-up because I am not ready to let go of The 100 universe yet.
The accents are awful and the acting is stale in some scenes.Worth a watch but not a rewatch.
I didnt like any of the characters and the acting was subpar. How Reese can go from Big Little Lies to this boggles the mind.
The writing/pacing was straight garbage. It was rushed & over the top ridiculous . It was like they had a list of crappy cliche plot points they were trying to hit rather than make an enjoyable movie.
Not sure why this film is so highly praised. It's a run of the mill film with typical plot & acting. I didnt feel anything for these characters,I kept waiting for something memorable to happen & it never did.
The emotion is a bit forced although carried out well.Lot's of stereotypical scenes and you can see season 1's plot laid out in the first episode.
Nothing groundbreaking or exciting. Typical.
Nothing special here, these shows are a dime a dozen.
While I'm not mesmerized by the story it holds my interest enough to keep watching. I kinda wished I waited until the series was done & binge it.
Never have I enjoyed watching someone get k.o'd like Bethe Correia
Holm pulled off one of the biggest upsets in mma history.
