Another generic zombie film with no bite.
A highly stylized descent into madness. Superb acting by all, incredible imagery but also exhausting as not only is it a barrage of dark imagery but Shakespeare in very thick Scottish accents is pretty tough to keep up with.
I found it reminiscnet of Lars von Trier with it's nihilistic and depressing tone, I absolutely loved it, but it will definitely not be for those who want a lazier cinema experience.
Jalmari Helander has now wrapped the Finnish style to action movies with Big Game, the same way he did to horror/fables in Rare Exports.
Big Game is a great action film which channels 80's action with a slight quirkiness in tone which you don't get with Hollywood triple A titles.
Samuel L Jackson is great but completely outshone by the returning cast of Finnish actors including the absolutely incredible Onni Tommila.
I can't wait to see what else this team come up with for the next film!
What can I say about Jurassic World? It is genuinely amazing and as good as the original Jurassic Park!
I am taken by back by how good it was in fact and it is definitely a regression movie for anyone that remembers the first time they saw the T Rex when they were 12!
The title seems to have a double meaning. Not only for the 'monster' of the film, but it is also one of those movies that gets under your skin. I can't stop thinking about it.
The film has very unique feel to it, an 80's vibe, a creepy unique premise and a constant feeling of unease, I can now see why this has been getting so much press throughout the horror scene.
A Must Watch!
Interesting and well shot but absolutely not for everybody. Only watch if you are in the mood to be challenged and let Under The Skin wash over you.
Although set in a comic book universe, X-Men Days of Future Past is very much a thriller with Sci fi themes. The full cast from all the movies get involved, some for major reprisals and some for small cameos but nothing that feels cliche or trite. Hugh Jacman IS and ALWAYS will be Wolverine.
I can't way for X-Men Apocalypse now!
Some good action, but not enough time is spent with the monsters. Cloverfield and Pacific Rim are much better monster movies.
