I'll start off by saying I really liked the series, and also I like that overall it's a little complete story, I started watching knowing it was only one season and I would have hated an open ending knowing it would never be continued, so I'm glad it has an established ending.

That said, I enjoyed the love story, but the time travelling seemed to be underutilized in the end, and also the whole Kennedy plot felt a bit short of expectation.

First of all, we don't really know who killed Kennedy, so I hoped it would be a bit more blurry but they go for one guy since the very beginning and it's always him. Yeah I get it, they wanted to have him really characterized and fleshed out, to make it more than just a dude that pulls a trigger, but still I would have appreciated a bit more doubt.

The time travel really is only "useful" for the first 5 minutes of the first episode really, after that Jake is just a dude that knows a lot of stuff. Time travelling isn't really a factor in the story, it's just a way to have a motive to save Kennedy but nothing more. This would have been hard, if not impossible, to do with only 8 episodes, but time travel could have been used much much more as a plot point.
As we know, each time he goes back to the present and again into the past, everything resets and he starts from the same point, so the struggles Jake has in the first few episodes really do not make sense, ok you got jumped by a couple of dudes just go back and go make your bet somewhere else, stuff like that.

Yes the time travel would still get less and less relevant the further you go down the line, of course he wouldn't want to just reset everything after being there for almost 3 years and a love interest, but still as a plot point it still forgotten a bit too soon.

The finale is another point where I have mixed feelings : after all the trouble, he actually manages to save Kennedy...only to find a world in ruines. Which in itself is fine, but still dude let me know more like what the hell happened. We only get to learn that there was bombardments and that Kennedy camps where created, whatever that is supposed to mean.
Who bombarded america? When? What is happening in the world now? Is the world at war or in ruins, or just america? Jake still would have went back it's not that big of a deal, but still you can make up anything you want about how history changed from a single point, just have fun and make anything up.

It's also not really clear how the time travel portal works. When he goes back one last time, Jake is almost stopped by three dudes, but he manages to cross. Can they also cross? Would they get in the past, but a different past than where Jake went to? Can multiple people cross together? Because at a certain point Jake talks with Bill and Sadie about going to the future together, but would that be possible actually?

If that is actually possible, why didn't Jake try to bring Sadie then? Yes he would have to fall in love with her all over again, but judging by the strange feeling and behaviour she had when they met for the first time again that probably wouldn't have been too hard. Also, he can take all the time in the world, like he could just repeat the 3 years and then slowly explain everything to her like he already did (knowing that she would eventually believe him) and then try to bring her.
Which brings up another question, Jake decides to give up on Sadie because the other traveller tells him she would die regardless, buy would that happen if she went into the future with him? Also she isn't supposed to die in the actual timeline, so why would she die regardless if Jake would just live with her without attempting to save Kennedy?

Last but not least, It kinda bothers me how much Jake works for to literally get nothing done. At the start of the series he has no friends, unrewarding job and he is in deep pain coming out of a divorce, after the whole series he has still no friends, goes back to the same unrewarding and sad job, and has to experience even more pain letting go of the love of his life knowing he will never be with her.
The very last dance he has with old Sadie is just bittersweet, like yeah it feels cute but it's actually so sad, idk.

I'm complaining about stuff that honestly couldn't really be fixed in 8 episodes. What in trying to say is, this plot had a lot more potential than this, yeah it's fine in this mini series, but there is just so much more that could be done, more that could be explored but that would need at the very least 20-30 episodes to the very least.

Maybe someday in the future we will get another iteration of this story that will delve deeper into the assassination of Kennedy, that will use the time travel mechanic differently and will try something new, but for now I guess this mini series is fine as it is.

I saw this movie together with my family, and we all had very different opinions on it. Overall, I would say that I liked it, while my parents didn't.

Their main criticism is that the movie is "an anguish", and while I do agree that the movie feels really really slow in many parts, I think it's kinda right that it feels that way. It's not supposed to be an easy watch, the movie literally depicts a life full of sadness, abuse, darkness, really makes the heart heavy.

It's not the kind of movie you watch to have a fun night with friends, it's a dive into the troubled existence of one of the most famous human beings in the last century. I found it rather fascinating, in a way.

Ana de armas is just...magnetic. Those times were I was losing interest and maybe thinking about picking up my phone for a couple minutes, she hooked me back up. As gorgeous as the original Marylin, couldn't tell the difference for many scenes.

This is not the kind of movie you recommend to anyone because I feel that it's a personal experience, there's nothing conventional about it. After almost 3 hours of watch time, you will feel really heavy in the heart, so don't watch it if you don't want to.

I'll start off by saying that I did enjoy this movie, and I'm satisfied with the experience it gave me.

Other than that, I'm a little disappointed in the way the story is told.

the first half of the movie is extremely confusing. The pacing is so fast, it felt like watching the trailer of the movie instead of the actual picture. It was such a bizarre experience, I really was wondering why was it going so incredibly fast, it was super hard to keep up and grasp all the info since I didn't actually know Elvis's story at all before this movie.

Also, the scene where he is walking on the street and Doja cat starts playing, no. Just no. It doesn't mix AT ALL with the rest of the movie, it's so out of place in my opinion. Thank God it was pretty much the only moment when they went modern with the music, the rest was kept in line with Elvis style.

So, first half of the movie, really confusing, most of the info felt like it was thrown at my face instead of told and the cinematography felt really intrusive.

Second half of the movie? It got better, because they actually took their time, focusing on less events and giving them their due screen time. Narrating stuff with more calm and detail, the scenes definitely felt more developed and important, the way the first half of the movie should have been told pretty much.

Overall it's a good movie, the story gives a decent look into Elvis.

The actor for Elvis is insane, he looks precisely like him, he acts and moves like him, I've seen videos after the movie and the amount of detail is insane.

It's a worthy experience, but the first half of the movie should really be slowed down A LOT.

I liked both the concept and the execution of the show a lot, I didn't find a problem with the host he was funny to me.

It was funny to try to participate myself and guess which ones were cakes, I'll be sure to watch season 2 with friends because that factor makes it the perfect show to watch in company.

there is only one really small thing I didn't like which is that at times it felt "fabricated".

what I mean is, sometimes some events or choices that happened just felt predetermined and not genuine, it's a weird thing to say.

just to make a few esamples, it NEVER happened in the very first part of the game (the one where the bakers have to pick the cake) that nobody actually picked the cake, even more so it was always either all get it or one gets it wrong and two get it right which is just weird.

the other weird thing was how they handled the judges tasting the cakes, most of the time the bakers would just give the judges a slice to taste right away after they revealed if they got it wrong or not, on one episode actually the judges went 0/3 and never picked the actual cake. Now, the show taught us in previous episodes that if multiple people successfully fooled the judges the show would resort to the taste and details of the cakes to determine the winner, and the one episode there is a 3-way tie they conveniently wait until the very end of all 3 rounds to taste the cakes instead of tasting them one at the time like the other times? it just felt silly and fake.

I know this is a silly criticism to make but in this kind of competition shows I really care about sincerity and authenticity because if everything is just fabricated for the sake of it is not a contest, it is just another tv series and it kinda loses flavour in my opinion

other than that, I really enjoyed the show and I will be waiting for season two with excitement

Having heard of this movie all my life I have finally decided to watch it and to be honest...a bit of a let down.

Can it be entertaining and visually impressive? I would say yes, even though the CGI is starting to show its years.

Is the main idea of the movie good? Absolutely, I love a good old alien invasion movie, man they don't make them as much these days unfortunately.

Now, for the big question : does the plot make ANY sense, most of the time? I'm afraid it doesn't.
I found the general behaviour of people very illogical, like the very first scene of an alien coming up from the ground. A damn church is getting demolished by something coming out of the ground and you are just standing near by and watching? I would Usain Bolt the shit out of there.

Also, wtf where the aliens doing? First they were just vaporizing people, then the started abducting them and apparently drinking blood out of them, then we see that they actually just trap people in cages and absorb them later, and then all of a sudden they die.

The movie started with a dude saying yeeeh the aliens are plotting in the dark we will not see it coming but honestly that might have been the most inefficient attack in the history of attacks. The only smart move was making all technology useless initially, but that apparently wasn't a problem anymore when one (1) car got fixed for the protagonist, or when the army needed to fight back.

At first the intent seemed to be simple genocide, why not bomb the shit out of the cities instantly then? Instead they go around on big squids vaporizing humans ONE BY ONE, yeah that must be fast.

Then you see them drinking people and you say ok I guess they need humans for some sort of purpose, maybe they feed off of us? But then why vaporize those people earlier, were they not...tasty?

I get that the threat has to be "escapeable", otherwise the protagonist just gets nuked/killed/eaten in the first second of the movie and the credits roll. I just didn't find logical how it was handled for the most part.

Also, both kids are insufferable as characters, Jesus.

it was a really entertaining movie, nothing really to point out. the plot was good enough, I really liked how the "videogame" was structured, opened a lot of space for jokes and laughs. I genuinely laughed at many jokes in the movie, just a really well made comedy nothing really to add to that.

If there's something that I kinda need to criticize is the way they handled Milo.

I really liked his interaction with the rest of the group and I think that his slow way of talking really added a lot to the comedic side of things, but just him deciding "you know what I'm gonna stick in here for the rest of eternity" doesn't feel right to me. Like, dude has a wife in the real world, what is she supposed to believe? How could they ever explain her what happened, is she supposed to just accept that her husband disappear in thin air and she won't even have a body to cry on? It feels rather selfish for him to just avoid the consequence of...well, death. Because sure, dude was apparently about to die and that by itself is a pretty good reason to stay in a place where you won't die, I get that, but still...it was built to be an emotional moment and it kind of was, but the entire time I was just thinking "dude what are you doing, you are just gonna be a flying horse for the rest of eternity now? aren't you gonna miss your wife, your life, literally anything about the real world??"

Eternal life might seem like a blessing but eventually you get bored no matter what and it looks like nobody wants to ever come back there, so nobody will save him if he ever regrets his decision. It does look like they setted something up for a third movie but it would just feel cheap to have the character be like "you know what fuck this get me out of here" after that moment. I can see him maybe helping them out or something, but making him change his mind would make the whole thing pretty pointless.

Either way, it's not like I watched this movie for the plot lmao I watched it for laughs and a bit of action and I was pretty satisfied so there's that

Even though the premise was extremely interesting, i feel like the movie just wasn't able to really make a solid use of it.

The whole plot revolves about a dude that doesn't want to reincarnate anymore, so he thinks "if death means nothing to me, then why don't I just kill everything? Nothing around guarantees i won't reincarnate". This, on its own, actually makes sense. Mass genocide is pretty boring as a villain motive this days because it's just overused, but here? it really makes sense to me.

Taking everybody with him really seems to be the only way to win, but then....they introduce the special gun that the infinites use. this gun is able to trap the soul, preventing it from reincarnation. Now here's the question...what's the difference between being "trapped" in that chip and actually dying? They aren't reincarnating, are they able to feel or do anything in there? Cause the movie says it's a "limbo" but it seems as precise of a knowledge as death is to us, which brings me to the conclusion...why not just shot yourself with that? if you are so eager to stop reincarnating, just shot yourself dead and be done with it.

There wasn't really any need to have that kind of gun that does this sort of things either. If the objective of the gun is to remove someone from the equation, just kill them regularly. It will actually take at least 18 years to make them able to fight again (they say in the movie that an infinite takes usually 18 years to get all the memory back), and if you really don't want them to reincarnate and get back at you in 18 years, freeze them or trap them or anything. What I'm trying to say is : I know that the whole thing of the gun that traps the soul was created for the sole purpose of justifying the two lovers that were separated and couldn't reunite because only not being able to reincarnate was stopping that... but the very existence of the "soul trapping gun" makes the motive of the villain appear not only silly but downright nonsensical, because that's exactly how he gets defeated in the end. he gets shot with the gun, we don't see what happens clearly but we are led to believe that since he got shot the chip will go to the bottom of the ocean and stay there, trapping him forever, thus not letting him reincarnate...which is exactly what he was trying to do.

Overall the movie was fine, i feel like it was rushed in some points and could have used a little bit more time delving in the past conflict of these two factions or stuff like that, also the protagonist "power" to control energy or something like that was just silly plot armor, he used it just to stand up on a moving plane, wow what an incredible power, could have been used a bit more for sure.

Overall, a decent watch, not something I will remember though
