After a lackluster season (to put it mildly), somehow they managed to give us one of the best episodes this show has ever seen. I guess it pays off when it's Rob Thomas himself is in charge of the writing (yes, I checked the credits).

It's frustrating that Liv will most likely carry on being Renegade, because that still feels too out of character for her. I really don't like seeing her in that role, it's like it's meant for someone else. Or maybe I just miss her, Ravi and Clive (basically, the core of the show). Anyway, now with Major in charge, anyone can be Renegade, so maybe they'll let Liv be just Liv, again.

Unfortunately, as expected after this season's dull (and dumb) writing, the introduction of Isobel's character was completely useless and pointless, a very tiny arc in the story that made absolutely no sense, but at least she left a delightful post-mortem present for Clive and Dale.

If you haven't already, you can stop reading this comment here, because I'm now mentioning something no one probably cares about. After the unfortunate and frustrating cancellation of Dark Matter, I thought it would take a long time before I'd see Melissa O'Neil in the small screen again. But, thank Heavens, she got a small role in the last few episodes of this season. She's such a sight for sore eyes, I was just happy for the little screen time she had. Hopefully, there'll be some more of that next season. Which, apparently, will be the last. Can't say I'm mad about that, this season suffered quite a blow in the quality department, so I guess there isn't much they can still make to keep this show going strong.
