It's a good show and definitely way above the average investigative format that we often see that pretty much only recycle themselves over and over throughout their seasons. However, while characters are very well developed, each of the seasons main stories are not so much.
Excluding the outrageously badly written Season #3 (really, it's very messy), they all stand a solid ground, introducing facts, evidences and even new characters in an understandable pace. Granted, Season #2 was very nice and Season #4 was AMAZING but other than that the show stays solid within its premise. and expectations.
But the best single episode, without question, was ep. 5x9 when Judge Sobel showed lawyers and the prosecutor who's da boss.
