Schitt's Creek 2015

Swap out the hotel for a farm and this show is a modern day version of "Green Acres".

There's a husband annoyed by the weird people in the town and a fancy wife with a different accent than everyone else on the show. Roland Schitt treats Johnny Rose like a completely inept fool and misinterprets every motive in a comical "rolling his eyes" type of way. If Roland Schitt isn't an amalgamation of the townspeople of Hooterville from "Green Acres"...then dare I say who else is he?

And by "modern day", I mean that the show makes rich people out to seem completely alien to the rest of society and who got exactly what they SHOULD have had coming to them. Plus, there's at least one main cast member who is LGBT. You can take that how you will.

Is it funny? I'm concerned for the millennial and GEN Z generation of comedians because I feel like the only comedy type they know how to do well is the awkward "The Office" humor. To me, the funniest people on the show are the older generation of comedians, and that has me concerned for the future of comedy.

Having said that, I do think the show is funny, but I feel like it's overrated at how funny it is. I guess I was expecting more from how people flip over it. It's a solid 7 out of 10 for me.
