@finfan Die Antwoord were annoying (much like their music), but the movie was solid. CHAPPiE is a very intriguing character, I'd say it's almost impossible not to like him. There's a bit of District 9 in it (for obvious reasons), WALL-E and Short-Circuit. Maybe I'm biased, because I enjoyed a lot all three Neil Blomkamp movies I've watched. To me, he's good at sci-fi (and criticising society). Can't wait for his take on the Alien franchise!
@misnomer as I said, great idea and well done movie. I guess the style was exactly what Bloomkamp was aiming for. I liked District 9, Elysium was also good, and I appreciate non Hollywood movies. But this tried to hard to be Hollywood-cool.
@finfan "But this tried to hard to be Hollywood-cool." I never thought of it that way, but that does make sense and, as such, I can see why you didn't enjoy it as much as the other two movies (which I'm glad to know that you did enjoy).

I guess I´m 30 years too old for this because all this gangsta behavior really annoyed me. Those brain-dead characters and all this crap talk destroyed the whole idea of the movie for me which is a shame because technically this was really good.
Furthermore I think that was Jackmann´s worst role and Weaver´s was rather insignificant. So I conclude they were casted to gain interest for the US market.
