@finfan I think by now that this Series is an introduction to the Dave Filoni movie that it's coming next years. Mine is just a guess, because I don't read much about future projects, I don't want spoilers, I don't even watch trailers anymore. But being this far, we won't get much of Thrawn, since we have just three episodes left. And I hope the Thrawn arc won't end in just three episodes.
I am liking Ahsoka so far, but I have some issues:
I personally like this pace, the Ahsoka\Sabine training, the hiding in the planet, being lost in space trying to repair the ship... things we somehow got during the episodes of Rebels that made me love the animation show. But I get why people find it dragging a little bit, especially because Rebels was about surviving during a war, there wasn't a main story set, while for Ahsoka we were hoping for something different.
My initial thinking was that it was set after Rebels with Ahsoka going after Thrawn during the Episode 4 - 6 arc, that's why we don't see her in the original trilogy. But we already saw her chasing Thrawn in The Mandalorian. I am trying to understand why Filoni based this story after Episode 6. Maybe just to introduce her character during the Mandalorian arc.
In the end, I think we'll love this series in the future, when we'll see it as a nice introduction to something even greater, like Filoni it's capable of (see Clone Wars, Rebels, Mandalorian...). It's already better written and shot than Obi-Wan Kenobi and it's more exciting than Andor. But we need to be patient. Maybe Dave will prove me wrong with next episodes, but I prefer to not expect something and enjoy these moments, since these episodes feel like moments instead of stories. And I am fine with that.

On its own this wasn't a bad episode with the Clone Wars flashbacks, the images of Vader overlaying Anakin, and I liked little Ahsoka a lot more than her older self. It still left me very indifferent.
Not a shred of explanation on how Anakin could even be there. I never liked World between Worlds for reasons I already stated in other comments/replies. And here it just seemes to be a tool to have Ahsoka meet Anakin, have them involved in yet another lightsaber battle (I'm curious if they will have an episode without one) and count on the fact the viewer will be satisfied without asking any questions. The whole episode counts on that, it's full of these nostalgic moments with an almost angelic score to back this up. I'm a huge "Rebels" fan and am somewhat happy with how this played out aside from the Anakin part. But I wonder how viewers who don't have that connection will experience this. And why didn't Hera went with them ? I fully expected her to throw her commission at Mon Mothma's feet and go with Ahsoka. What can she possibly accomplish by staying behind ?
Let me make it clear again that I don't hate this show. I still believe that Dave is the Heir to the Empire. Maybe all my questions will be answered once we reach the end of the show. But at this moment the show is not taking me along on the journey I hoped it would be.
