Going into zombie movies with little to no expectations always results in more enjoyment from the viewing. The acting was good (imo), the characters were believable and likeable, and I actually wanted them to survive, which isn't always the case with some movies main characters. The ending could have dropped like three different parts that felt unneeded, but still not bad enough to warrant a score drop. A solid 7/10 if you like zombie movies.
Very predictable standard zombie movie. Nothing stand ups or suprise the viewer.
The production value is still good and the pacing is ok but i know i'll foget it soon.
3 Thoughts After Watching ‘:pound_symbol:Alive’:
I thought it was great! It’s not an easy feat to create something fresh in this tired genre — and they succeeded here. Well paced. Well acted. A perfect blend of humor and horror. Thrilling from start to finish.
Faster zombies are always scarier zombies.
Another highlight for me was the music. Loved the song choices throughout the film.
Bonus Thought: Watching something like this always inspires me to be stocked up on bottled water and canned goods.
Sure, its another zombie movie, but with its mix of action and soulful concepts, this stands out from the infected masses.
I liked it. Fresh take on the genre, liked the characters and the way they reacted to the situation. I know it’s nothing original or who knows what masterpiece, but I truly enjoyed it.
So glad that Netflix has started providing dubbed over movies. I tend to multitask when watching movies and having to read subtitles makes that near impossible. I actually enjoyed this movie, of course, our family is really into zombie movies so no surprise there! I thought the main actor and actress did a really good job too!
This has to be one of my favourite zombie movies so far. Worth a watch.
A bit too slow-paced at times for a zombie flick, but the plot was unexpected and thoroughly entertaining.
#Alive is intriguing and unusual
It's worth seeing, as I read it was a commercial success when it was released in June, during the middle of the pandemic in South Korea, a fact that Netflix has taken advantage of to extend it to the rest of the countries.
Good points are Yoo Ah-in's performance in the role of Oh Joon-woo and his survival quarantine mode. It makes you think that you would be able to survive in an apocalyptic world.
The bad part that I see in the movie is that I don't detail where or how the virus came from that turns everyone into a Zombie.
Otherwise it's worth taking a look.
#SARAITDA AKA #ALIVE (2020) REVIEW
.
.
:scroll: Plot: The rapid spread of an unknown infection has left an entire city in ungovernable chaos, but one survivor remains alive in isolation and how he survives
.
.
:man:⚖ Review : #Alive" pictures the familiar fast-moving undead masses and zombie-creating virus infections portrayed in famous Korean zombie thriller like "Train to Busan" (2016) in past. Korean movies have a distinctive touch when it comes to zombie flicks. Here zombies are more fast and agressive compaired to the stereotypes of slow zombies of America. #Alive is a survival horror flick where a Gamer Oh Joon-Woo (Ah-In Yoo) wakes ups late in the morning and the city is chaos.
Ah-In Yoo's anxiousness of missing his family, the fear of the unusual environment , The way he tries to save food while he still wants to eat it, the frustration of him being alone in the apartment portrayed brilliantly. Director II Cho has added an engaging screenplay which gives you a rivetting watching experience similar to the levels of Train to Busan.
Won't talk much about the second Half to avoid spoilers, but overall #Alive may not be the best zombie flick but it surely has a unique premise and a fresh take on the zombie survival genre. Kudos to the editing team to keep it short and tight with 98 minutes.
.
.
:thumbsup:Goods :
1. Ah-In Yoo is brilliant.
2. The Fresh and Unique Premise of a survivor stuck in Apartment.
.
.
 Bads :
1. But its story lacks plausibility as it does not give details on the zombie outbreak and lead characters daring escapism skills seems unrealistic at times.
.
.
:fire: Final Rating : 7.5/10
.
.
:white_check_mark: Verdict : #Alive is intriguing and unusual and is worth your time. Commercially it was a success with limited screens in June when it released in South Korea. Give it a watch.

Asians make some decent horrors and this infected film was good and a lot of entertaining action.
That was worth watching but not perfect. 7/10.
Liked the acting tho.
Pretty good movie, for what it is. Sure, it's a standart zombie movie, with little to nothing new, but I honestly quite enjoyed it.
The acting is good imo, and the characters are likeable.
7/10 I liked it more than I thought I would
Entertaining Korean zombie movie, with adequate length to spend time without major pretensions.
It's already been three years sinse I watched this but I still vividly remember parts of it, which says something I think, sinse I usually forget everything in a week.
It's the same zombie plot you've seen a hundred times before but the appartment setting is what really pops out of the ordinary, makes it isolated and it's almost a one location movie (pandemic style). The main character is a bit one-dimensional but when Park Shin-hye comes in it brings new life into his character and into the movie. Their interactions are the highlight. Satisfying direction and pacing, good acting overall, nicely shot, zombie makeup looks great, when there's action it's thrilling and it has emotions. Some of the best zombie actors too, they're really into it. Good third act but I wasn't a fan of the ending.
It's not Train To Busan but #Alive still manages to feel refreshing in an ocean of similar content.
Decent enjoyable zombie flick with a slightly different approach despite some plot holes
For those who are not aware, the Korean movie "#ALIVE" is based on the 2019 script by Matt Naylor. This same 2019 script was also made into an American movie entitled "Alone".
For more information:

I wish I enjoyed this movie more as I think it had a lot of potential but it sort of fell flat for me, especially the story. I desired substance that wasn't really there. A shame for sure. The infected were very well done so I give them props for that. The acting wasn't half bad either.
Issa typical average zombie movie and everything is very predictable :zombie:
At the end of this movie, I was like "that's it? really?" :face_with_raised_eyebrow:
I watched it on Netflix 12/12/2020
Entreteniment for a lazy zombie movie fan. I liked the start, if was only like Cloverfield Lane 10 this could be a little better.
There have been times when you wished you were eaten by zombies or fell for a fool. When he finds the girl he gets better
Completely average movie that feels way longer than it is. Joonwoo is a gamer who lives with his family and wakes up late one day finding a note that theyve gone to get groceries. As he logs onto play, he hears one of the others mention something on the tv. When he checks it, all hell breaks loose as people start eating each other downstairs and outside his apartment. Having no food, Joonwoo must now try n survive until he can either get rescued or leave the apartment.
The pacing of the movie was pretty off. Joonwoo spends almost 3 weeks at his apartment and only manages to survive after finding that someone in another apartment is alive. They communicate via phone messages across the gap between their units but they cant reach each other. I felt like Yoobins character was all over the place. She is clearly adventurous and loves camping but she's conveniently clumsy and weak when the story requires it.
I found the lack of foresight on her part a major character flaw that would not make sense based on what she has done with her apartment. Joonwoo's ineptitude and poor strength make sense. I liked the one emotional scene about his reason for living.
I didnt understand the zombie behaviour and why they would find the apartment building interesting at all if they didnt originally live there. The zombies are more so that they can become zombies while still alive, but also that dead people can become zombies too. I thought there was some interesting discourse about the virus but it wasn't explained and it's unclear whether other parts of Seoul or korea were experiencing this. In one frame we see a regular Seoul skyline with some CG explosions, however there is a lot of traffic safely going across the bridge.
The characters eventually find their way out and have to face a stupid trope character that contributes nothing to the story. I felt like this final section of the movie was a blessing because it was finally over. The music was tonally all over the place. I couldn't think of a single moment that deserved upbeat music and it shouldnt have a place in zombie films.
While I do enjoy the genre this isn't really worth it, I would skip this one.
I wouldn't exactly say this is a new Asian horror favorite; but I still feel this is a pretty decent horror movie. I mean, I wouldn't put it up in the same category as "Train To Bussan," but the movie held it's own. I should let you guys know it DOES drag a little bit. However, the exciting moments are spread throughout the movie. There's quite, then scary moment, then quite, the scare the shit out of you moment, then quite, then action. LOL. I only had two issues with this movie. I think they dragged it longer than it needed to be; and I think the directors made the blond lead actor too dopey. For a guy who's into high tech, I expected him to be a little smarter. One of the very few Asian movies I've watched with subtitles.
No surprises here, pretty standard Zombie film but done well. I enjoyed the thematic book-ending even if simple. The action wasn't frequent but was satisfying, the characters were fun to follow, and it was directed fairly well.
Not reinventing the wheel, but a pretty good one.
Also might be a controversial take, but I enjoyed this more than Train to Busan.
I love love love the zombies! amazing movie. wish they would do a TV series of these zombies! will watch again. must watch.
Well, what can I say?
I think I’ve been really very bored watching this.
It had a comedy element to it, but I’m not sure it was meant to have.
It’s slow and has really no storyline or depth.
I’ve only given it a 6 for the zombies; makeup is fantastic and the actors played their parts very well; they way they moved, sounded etc. They were brilliant zombies in a boring film.
This is an ok film to have on in the background if you’ve friends round. It doesn’t matter if you’re chatting, as you won’t miss anything particularly. But, you may have a giggle watching it.
Bit of a cliche filled generic zombie film but I did love the use of technology by the main character. Maybe I expected too much because when I thought 'Korean zombie movie' I immediately thought of Train to Busan and Kingdom which are both very innovative and great. #Alive is not that but it is good enough for a evening with solid entertainment.
This was a cool movie. Bit long at times but the emotions and thrills were still effective. Cliche ending but I suspect that's what the movie is going for (predictable, stable, journey vs unstable new flick).
it was okay, pretty typical as any zombie movie nothing new, but i liked the vibes and it was thriller but some parts were pretty boring.
Well, the story is a bit poor, and it’s almost the same story as EXIT movie. But the acting was very good Shin hye was supper Ah in acting also perfect.
I will give it 7/10
Worth watching, licking forward for Shin hye and Ah in works :clap_tone2:

Nothing special. Expected some extreme scenes and a kind of different ending. Time killer...
