Stephen King is the master of horror, but what scares him? According to the many recommendations from his legendary book “Danse Macabre” and various tweets in recent years, a fascinating cross-section of scary movies gets his pulse racing. Check out all of his favorites and get ready to catch a fright.

Movies mentioned by Para-Medic during the save codec calls in MGS3.
"When the going gets tough, movies can save your life. It's always good to be able to look at things from a different perspective when you get in a jam. That's the magic of movies."

I often criticise all these remakes of movies and the lack of originality of the studios, specially hollywood and the Hindi film industry. We jus have to many of them and rarely they have any substance. But there are some exceptions which are actually good or at least good enough imo. Some films are rather inspired by than full-on remakes, I'll put them on here aswell.

Also adding the originals and sorting them before the remakes.

I recommend watching mostly the originals first.

This list is still by far not finished..

The theme of alien invasion in movies revolves around the idea of extraterrestrial beings from other planets or galaxies coming to Earth with hostile intentions or a desire to conquer or manipulate humanity. This theme often explores the tension and fear that arise from the unknown, the clash of civilizations, and the vulnerability of our planet and species.

There are different variations of alien invasion scenarios. The "War of the Worlds" style portrays large-scale destruction and conflict, emphasizing the chaos and devastation caused by a direct assault. On the other hand, the "Invasion of the Bodysnatchers" approach delves into psychological horror and the idea that anyone could be an imposter, leading to paranoia and mistrust. Some stories use comedy to subvert the seriousness of the invasion theme and exaggerate the tropes or use humor to highlight the absurdity of the situation.

This list comprises movies that I consider worth watching and exemplify the trope across various genres.

No animation, superhero, comic, battle mech, or post-apocalyptic movies allowed on this list.

I included a few edge cases that, technically, are not invasion movies but align closely with the overarching theme.
