The López family is left homeless by a fire. Because of the misfortune, the López family must remodel and start over. The police arrest Plácido for buying stolen furniture.
Plácido returns home after being arrested for buying stolen furniture. Gaby and Plutarco manage to get furniture for the house, also of dubious origin.
Plácido is concerned because of the economic imbalance they have suffered as a result of the fire. During a family reunion, Plácido sets new rules and requires everyone to get a job.
The building administrator notifies the López family of the sale of the building where they live, so they must vacate the apartment in less than 24 hours since a new super market will be built there.
The López family is notified that their water service will be cut off in their apartment. Family members try to find out who is responsible for their water service being shut off.
Plácido expresses to his family his feelings about the lack of privacy that exists in his home. The new dynamic to be able to live in the López house is to contribute money, otherwise they must take their turn to be able to reside there.

Plácido and Plutarco are very happy with their family and explain that Don Justo has given them their first paid vacation. The López family organizes to go out together to Pepetongo.
Don Arnoldo, while sleeping, mentions that he has a treasure in the town of Apaseo el Grande, Guanajuato. The López family implements a treasure hunt plan.
Plácido is fired from his job because of an incident between Plutarco and Don Justo. Licha, while reading a magazine, finds an article by the witch Madame Patú, an expert in reading letters.
Plácido desperately searches for work. The only job that Plácido manages to find is selling tamales. Justito invites his maternal grandfather to dinner at his house. Tecla abandons the López family.
