I love anthologies so here's hoping subsequent episodes are as well done as this was. I don't like having to rate an episode overall when it contains two stories but I've always liked the Stephen King short "Grey Matter" and this interpretation seems very faithful and the monster that Richie becomes is neat. The second story with the little girl and her haunted doll house is cute. The child actress is really good and there's some suspense in this little tale.
If you watch this thinking it's a parody, it's actually pretty good. I laughed harder at this than most comedies.

"Gray Matter" offers a solid start with a commendable cast, but its second segment, "The House of the Head," falls short of expectations. Despite the potential for a double dose of excellence in the season premiere, it fails to deliver anything particularly remarkable.
Utter boring garbage. Creepshow was funny af - and walked a great line between that and horror. This, however, is neither. Idc if effects are bad - I live for stuff like that, as long as it's not over done shitty CGI.... All i know is, sitting through this first one, both stories were tedious, dragged on forever, and had absolutely no substance to them whatsoever.
It's like "here's a super tiny idea for something, how far can we drag it out to make an entire half episode!"
I'm loathe to give it any more chances - i can tell already how bad this is. Tales of The Crypt was amazing, and it's been decades, this feels like a cheap imitation, but without the comedy & talent.
That show was full of great actors. This.... Idk. How did this get 4 seasons?!

Looks PC, SJW, feminism free. Good choice. I like it, reminds me of tales from the crypt and of course the creepshow movies.
