2x01 Joy

Ah, just in time. I needed a good cry.

I liked the ending. I don't like Joy much so far. I was hoping the God account wasn't finished with Miles and Jessie Quick.

Actually. all this did was remind me that the one liner "god friended me" that turned into a series has well expired the point of being light entertainment.

I'll leave you folks with to enjoy it alone.

Establishing a new season's story arc is always a little rough, and I think this episode suffered a little more than I expected. Joy was a hard sell for me, her character just didn't seem to fit. She felt too rigid and uncompromising. Then, when things began to fall into place, it seemed to transition without credible emotional nuance. (I do realize how odd it is to expect "credible" transitions in a fantasy based series but this show has always had appealing emotional contours. It was good to see our favourite characters fall into lock step. It was interesting to have the two new story arcs on different continents. I can only give this episode a 6 (fair) out of 10 but here's hoping it will find its feet and return the series to the 7 (good) I gave the first season. [Fanciful Drama]

The best feelgood show of last season is back! Rejoice! And they still haven't lost the (emotional) touch.
So, now Miles has a new sidekick (who isn't Cara or Rajesh!)... I'm not really fond of Joy, as of right now, but I'm willing to let go of first impressions, providing she goes through some decent character development throughout the season.
I really don't understand why did they push Cara away (are they really saving the whole "Miles and Cara lived together happily ever after" routine for the final season? — assuming this isn't it)... But I'm guessing they'll still manage to keep her in the loop all the way from Paris. I just hope every episode of this season won't have someone who by coincidence is staying in Paris at the moment and is of major importance for the friend suggestion of the week...
Miles used to have a cutie on his side... Now he has the law. That's gotta shift the show dynamics for this season.

Not digging how selfish miles is being about the god account. He only cares about his podcast. He has let his fame get to his head. And he’s monetizing the god account. Ready to drop this crap. And not having Kara around sucks and joy is definitely not a joy. I can’t imagine this show being any good anymore if joy is the lead
