Again a potentially eye-roll-inducing bit of farce plotting is salvaged by some unexpectedly weighty character work. The Blair/Dan scene one of my favourites of the show so far.
"He looks like Matthew McConaughey between movies".
Finally an episode that has normal pace, at least by CW's standards. This one is focused on showing us that things are never black and white on Gossip Girl and does a very good job exploring Blair's insecurities. The last few minutes are probably the most heartwarming sequence the show has had so far.
Blair might be getting better?
7/10
Blair is so terrible, but she is a sympathetic character. I fully understand Dan's disdain for her and his confusion about Serena. The boys and their storyline were so meh (for once though, the trashy Chuck is more sensible than Nate). Great ending!
Ha, so they're friends just like that? Damn, Serena deserves better am I right? Didn't care much for the Nate & Chuck sory here, but the photoshoot was interesting, let's see how things play out with Serena & Dan!

Really? They're friends again just like that? Jeez, well, I guess that's high school for ya! I hope Serena actually doesn't let Dan down again. He deserves better. And to be honest, I think Serena needs to find new friends because Blair seems fake and high-maintenance. Thats the problem with not seeing their friendship beforehand. Also, great to see Chuck show a good side to him. Guess that was the plan of the writers to build him up as some evil character but he does have a good side when it comes to helping out his friends.
