All these sick jokes were probably to lessen the impact of her death. I still didn't like 'em, I also think they let her die wayyy too soon, yet the season is at a close so we need to shakes things up. Right?
The writing has been really subpar this season overall. But then again, having her stay longer makes the audience more attached to her. So that character was a lose-lose situation from the get-go anyway.
It was a short pleasure nontheless. Isobel enriched the series and gave the show some spark back, something that was missing for this entire season and a lot in S3. It was great as well having her break the fourth wall at the end. A last farewell in a sense to the audience, kinda reminds me off that one particular character in OitnB.
The whole deal with Isobelle fell flat due to the enormous amount of "boy who cried wolf" jokes that have been in the past few episodes. Whoever thought it was a good idea to have that same joke happen almost exactly 8 minutes (I didn't go back to check) before her actual death shouldn't be writing emotional episodes anymore. I was more annoyed than sad in seeing it portrayed and what should have been a touching moment became a relief.
I think the show writers did not know how great of a character they were creating and how great of a job casting would do. The chemistry between Ravi and Isobel has been superb though her short run.
They treated her like a second tier character yet she broke out and judging from all of the voice from people the past few episodes, everyone loved her introduction. I myself feel really annoyed that for once when you need one of those 'tv miracles' you get this... I wish they would kill Major or Payton that's how little I care about them. Isobel should've stayed... Emotionally breaking moment, too bad a show with so much potential and so many good qualities is rolling down the hill each week now...
a touching episode :'( and like they say on Zombie High, iZombie is like meat with a spark..
Well done, iZombie. That ending got me.
The last scenes with Ravi was to much. So sad
It seems I'm on the minority around here when I say that I didn't care for Isobel, at all. The actress was great, she had charisma on screen, but her character added absolutely nothing to the show. More so, she wasn't around long enough for the viewers to create any sort of emotional attachment to her. It was all rather pointless, really. She left the show as quickly as she came into it and, as such, I was unable to feel much when they revealed her death, there was no emotional build-up whatsoever. It would make sense if her character would contribute to finding a cure for the zombie condition (I thought that's why they included her in the story), but they actually "forgot" about that very important side of her character because they obviously felt it was more important to show Ravi teaching her how to drive or to show how much of an unbearable prankster she was. Ugh! Bad writing sure is annoying. Yes, Isobel had potential, but the time she spent on iZombie was as useful as a spoon in bowl of spaghetti. Unless she'll actually become relevant after death. Now that would be interesting...
Also, wassup with that Fillmore-Graves shooting? Are the writers just throwing their shit at the wall to see if something will stick? Also also, the whole cult thing is totally bonkers and nonsensical and it's, most likely, the worst thing this show has ever endured.
I have no idea if this show was renewed, but this season has marked a new low for what was once a very consistent series, quality-wise. Maybe it's time for Rob Thomas to move on to other characters in other stories, as iZombie, like their main characters, seems to be getting stale.
Talk about being ridiculously heartbreaking.

Isobel's story was included in this season as if it was just another side plot... only to leave us absolutely devastated this episode. I did not see all these feelings coming! Don't leave us, stay another episode at least... ah, everything about it was sad, but what made it even more sad for me was Rahul Kohli. Damn, that's some acting right there.
That said, I have multiple issues with this episode. We finally had a payoff with Major's infiltration mission... which ended on a terrible note. I was a bit unhappy about Chase simply shooting the girl, it doesn't really fit with the Chase who hesitated before killing Mama Leone. I have problems there, because it's too convenient (the shooting) for Major to definitely hate and work against Chase later on... but well. I like how Chase's expression immediately changed sensing something went wrong before they even knew.
Also, I feel like iZombie is struggling hard with the "cases of the week"... As fun as it is to find out what brain Liv will be on next, I feel like they're doing so well with the stories that carry over through multiple episodes, having them spend time on explaining cases seems like a waste. I keep seeing scenes in the interrogation table and tuning off or just thinking "whatever, show us what the others are up to".
