Without doubt, this episode made me want to see more of Michaela Coel's Bev: She whirls from vulnerable to dangerous to puckishly charming so fast it made my head spin.
I was shocked to see Jane watching Harold and Maude on a Google Chromecast at the end of the episode! A Chromecast seriously! I mean the characters all have iPhones and MacBooks so the obvious choice would have been an Apple TV assuming the “company” furnished their apartment with all the gadgets and gizmos. Heck even a Fire Stick would have made sense considering this is an Amazon show but a Chromecast!!!!!
I really don’t care about these characters anymore. I feel like the child constantly watching their parents fight and inevitably get a divorce.
So now she’s the crazy possessive jealous one? And he’s the chill cool guy. So lame.
The series is going downhill and without brakes, there is no sense in what either of them are doing.
The show is finding it a bit hard to set consistent personalities for the characters. I guess sometimes these things flip around in real life, especially in such a competitive relationship but in fast tracking their relationship in a tv show like this, it feels like they should be a little more consistent in certain traits. A bigger issue is that they labour too much over some of the relationship issues. They set this episode up well to have the action/mission match well with the issues they were whining about but then it just felt like they kept rehashing the same crap for a lot of their conversations and the mission just became a background event to their arguments. Their arguments that are feeling a bit tedious after episode 6 which dealt with their issues better and was more humorously. It seems at times like they are trying to inject some humour but it's too mild and unfunny to lift the mood, John makes a couple of jokes/comments that are probably supposed to be so unfunny they are funny but they just fell flat for me.
I think it feels to me as if they have all the components of a good show here but they just haven't figured out how to put it together. I have a feeling the show won't impress viewers enough to continue but if it does it could become something more compelling.
...in spite of how ridiculous they are as a "spy couple", especially with Donald's style bleeding into his character. Aren't spies supposed to be understated? The kind of people that witnesses would find hard to describe.

The "missions" have always been weak and not made much sense. But it was easy to overlook because their chemistry and falling for each other was fun and brought joy.
With the past few episodes just having them hating on each other, they've made it a bit cringe and made it void of any joy. The only reason I keep watching is I'm hoping they bring the joy back.
