It was sad to see Dom and Darlene separate ways. Then it was a delight to see Dom change her mind and turn back to go with Darlene. Then Darlene had a panic attack and went away just in time for Dom to return. I don't know if I'm mad or sad or just really frustrated, that was not a fun rollercoaster ride, I hate this show.
It's as if they heard my complaints from the last episode. Darlene finally got her day in the sun!
The writing in this episode is really quite exceptional. It takes a thorough understanding of character in order to pull something like this off. Bravo.
I remember when last year in BoJack Horseman Rami Malek said "This is going to be a sensational season of television". Well, here we are. This is it. And I love every moment of it. Also: Sam, you son of a b*tch
Wouldn't you just hate to be that person who doesn't use that wallet-system. And what about the people outside of the US? Or all the criminals? Still nice though...
GIVE ME BACK MY HAPPY LEZ ENDING
What a strange episode. The music choices were interesting, a lot of camera angles too. I guess Esmail just has a thing for trolling and mocking tropes which I usually love but this is just so unsatisfying!
Absolutely love that Elliot told Darlene that the hack was her tremendous work and she deserves to push the button. That whole scene between the siblings was heart warming and just so fitting for those two.
The last scenes on the other hand...heart breaking. Feels like a punch in the gut and indeed frustrating. On the other hand: this is what it took for both of them to confront their fears, live through them and then overcome them. There's something soothing and beautiful in Darlene's hands relaxing on the sink and Dom falling asleep in her seat.
Also I'm glad that they are both alive. Somehow I had a feeling of dread throughout the whole episode, thinking that they were definitely not both gonna make it.
Well, that ending was... depressing. Sam you troll
this episode was written by a teenager
Yeah... I'm really not a fan of plots that go like "Just change one tiny thing and the world is saved". You can't just go Robin Hood on the whole world and everybody is rich now and all is fine. It's not that easy. The world is more complex than that. And I really hope they will show that in the episodes to come.
They didn't run off the Budapest with each other, but they both got what they needed in the end and that's all the more important. It's smarter writing rather than following the cliched "airport run".
Alternative title : Domlene can't catch a break.
Ep was great as always, even if it had an aura of a filler, ended up being good.
Also, Bobby Cannavale's Irwing is blissfully creepy.
“This is Not your friend. It is a robot” - Darlene about the Alexa device.
Wooow, so deep.
Very realistic that a FBI agent specialized in cyber crime puts this kind of device in her home, even when knowing about all the possible ways how it can technically be used for surveillance
After last week's outing, this one was bound to be a letdown no matter what, but the decisions on where to place the focus for the hour made it all a little worse than it had to be. Thankfully, there was Leon. Go with the LLC, Leon. Go with the LLC.
That could have been so much... But in the end disappointing
The story is over. Now, they are giving a final to the main characters. Good.
A nice break from all the action that is happening. I found the ending satisfying, considering it went against the common trope and both Darlene and Dom got what each of them needed.
Additionally, Irving's cameo was really cool
Worst episode of the season. The shippers will love it, though.
Man I hate that trope they've used in the ending, it's always so stupid and annoying and feels like a cop out. Seriously.
On an unrelated note, think of all the inflation that's going to happen because this huge amount of money just went into circulation. I hope they'll address that in the last three episodes.
great character focused episode for both dom and darlene. the fact they didn't go together is what shows their growth and individuals, and there's possibility of them reuniting after they solve their issues. it's a good ending for them
In hindsight, this was a lot better the second time around than the first time around. At first, the episode felt a bit bloated and unnecessary, but it actually gives both Dom and Darlene the closure that they need, even if it doesn't provide them with a "happy ending" by stereotypical storyline standards. There are some throughlines of character consistency throughout the episode that shows payback for elements of both Dom and Darlene's stories starting in Season 2, that were very pleasant to see brought up and then concluded in this episode, subtly and in their own way.
I loved the subversion they used here. The cliche heavy pop music and "running through the airport" to be reunited, only for both characters to go their separate ways and get what they truly needed. Very well done. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't rooting for them the entire time Dom was jogging through the terminal, but I realise that this is much better for the characters respective endpoints. Finally seeing Dom sleep after seeing her unable to since her characters introduction was a great bookend to her character.
What a show. Can't wait to see how they wrap it up, but also don't want it to end at all.
Elliot: I love you.
Mr. Robot: I love you.
Finally... Irving is in the house!!!

i think some people might be missing the point. yeah they they didn't end up flying off together happily ever after, but they did both get what they both needed.
Dom is last seen sitting in the plane, passed out. this is important because earlier it stresses the point that she has basically not had any kind of meaningful sleep or rest in like 5 years. this is her finally feeling some level of peace, and being in a place where she is not afraid of the worst and able to fall asleep peacefully.
Darlene has been so co-dependent it is crippling to her when she is forced to be alone. she runs off and has a panic attack in the bathroom, but wills herself to accept that she can be ok on her own and this serves as a turning point in her growth and ability to move on and be ok whether she is alone or not. she needs to be able to be alone before she can be with someone.
edit 12/11:
also forgot to point out what i believe to be an intentional play against the stereotypical scene in which the two would have united at the last moment, with a catchy pop song to go along with it by an artist who has been arguably borrowing from the 80s in a large portion of her catalog. and from what i can recall, but i could be wrong, the fact that you hear little to no current pop music as a part of the soundtrack in any way remotely similar to how it is used in this scene, serves to support the intended play against such cliches in other films/shows.
