The US Food and Drug Administration is looking at lowering nicotine in traditional cigarettes to, quote, “non-ADDICTIVE levels.” The FDA seems to be backing potentially less harmful e-cigarettes, as they also extended the deadline for these “additional tobacco products” to be regulated. The announcement caused a major drop in the share price of tobacco companies, but considering tobacco use is the leading cause of preventable disease and death for Americans, we can literally live with that!
