Another good season. The chemistry between Jean Smart and Hannah Einbinder continues to be out of this world, the problem is that everything else pales in comparison.
7/10. I appreciate the representation of how complicated, gross, and just messed up your emotions can get when you are suffering like this. It's really disheartening to read the lack of empathy from some other commenters here. Some poor decisions were made, yes, but that would never justify what he experienced as a result.
Good but not great, a solid 7/10. The acting, music, and cinematography were fantastic, I just felt disconnected from the story and from all the characters except for Hyun-woo, Hae-in, and Soo-cheol.

This was a great show. I'm going to miss it a lot more than I expected! I'm really impressed by the clever writing and character development. Marc, Wilhelmina, and Amanda are awesome characters, but I love every regular character on this show. Also, America Ferrera has never been and will never be ugly, lol

This was really beautiful, I just wish there had been more to it. I would have definitely watched a full docuseries about this topic.
Seeing Oh Jung-se in this episode was such a nice surprise. I loved his scene with Kim Soo-hyun <3 The show's trajectory seems predictable after the ending, but I'm curious to see what will happen!
I think the creators of live-action remakes tend to really misunderstand what had made the source material special. So, they inevitably mess it up.
This wasn't terrible, but it's just hard to understand why they made this? Well, money, of course. I would just much rather see a third animated Avatar series than a live-action remake. Animation is a beautiful art form on its own.
A few things I did really like about this adaptation:
- Costumes, hair, and makeup were done very well, except for Zuko's scar, which was fine but could have been better.
- It captured certain characters' dynamics and relationships well. Iroh and Zuko's relationship stands out: super important as it's one of the most satisfying relationships in the original story.
- I personally think almost every casting choice was impeccable... at least, in regard to the characters' physical likenesses and their voices. Iroh's actor was consistently great but I'm not sure about the casting; I didn't like Azula's acting or casting; everyone else was cast well but the acting itself was hit-or-miss.
There were several creative changes made to the story, but I can understand that. I don't expect or need it to be the same show. What is harder for me to get past is when the changes make it obvious that the creator is not even interested in imparting the same meaning or message.
Some examples of changes that bothered me (I don't feel like explaining, but hopefully you get it):
- How utterly dark and devoid of color it is.
- The lack of focus on building up new skills or even relationships.
- The lack of focus on Aang learning about the history and implications of being the Avatar.
- Certain things added, sometimes way before their original storyline, seemingly just to be "Easter eggs", but that were more meaningful or at least funny in the original series: Momo and Appa, the cabbage man, the "secret tunnel" song.
- Although I liked the casting choices, I suspect that they went with the actors who looked and sounded most like the original characters because it would give the appearance of being truthful to the original series. Idk, it seems like the creators just terribly underestimated their audience and what the audience wants.
- This hasn't happened yet so maybe it's unfair to list it here lol, but based on the trajectory so far, I suspect Zuko's redemption will come early and will be rushed, which would be a real shame.
- There is a sense of peace and lightheartedness weaved throughout the original series, but that's completely absent here.
- Overall, the slow-paced and thoughtful moments have just been kind of ignored.
Well, this is probably the longest comment I've left on Trakt but I just really felt like sharing my thoughts right after watching. I'll still check out season 2 if and when it comes.
I would love this show if it was just about the dead characters. The murder mystery isn't compelling to me and could have been wrapped up way more quickly. The characters of Wally and Charley are really carrying the show for me.
a show this gorgeous had no right to be THIS boring
I was hoping this would be a new favorite and between the beautiful visuals, music, premise, and acting, it should have been a strong contender! The performances by IU and Bae Hae-seon were especially great. However, the story was a disappointment and did not have me invested, but instead was a chore to get through. The characters, and particularly the chemistry-less romance, fell flat for me. Some storylines were better than others, and I found Seo-hee's story the most compelling. I quite enjoyed the ending though; it's the type of ending I would expect for a show like this. And, of course the ending cameo from Kim Soo-hyun :')
LOVE Yamato, idk about Kakeru... most of the other characters exist just to be annoying

I'm so shocked??? Matty was so much less consistent than Dan or Josh and I agree it makes no sense for him to have won - I guess they just based their decision on the final bake? Dan was my favorite throughout the season, but Josh deserved to win most.
Wow, what a fun start to the season! I really dislike the '50s Americana type of musical, so I didn't love the first season, but I'm glad I gave season 2 a try! I'm also super happy with the cast, I love to see these talented actors in their new roles and am thrilled to see Tituss Burgess and Patrick Page here (even better that Fred Armisen is nowhere to be found...so far).

I thought this was a little pimp. I thought it was a little pimp walking all around.
Huh?! There is NO way Chris should be in the finale over the other two, or most of the other eliminated contestants... I'm pretty sure they just wanted someone from each team in the finale
10/10 on the acting, cinematography and music. I like Hansu and Mozasu way more in this adaptation than the book, but some of the creative changes confused me! I haven't liked any of the changes so far. Excited to see more of the story adapted.
The last few scenes made me cry. My So-Called Life is brilliant!
I had no idea that a Dragon Age show could be so dull. There was no reason to care about the characters or story. But at least it looked nice :')
