This is a filler, in the complete sense, and it's weird to get one so close to the end when it seems everything should be intense and high-stakes, but I really loved it (although keep in mind it's light in action), so I can't complain too much.
Mrs. Butters was a great and interesting addition here. Seeing the boys so happy, carefree and finally being able to celebrate everything they've been missing, at least once, in a wholesome way, made me so happy. I also loved having someone actually taking care of them for a change, in a way that's not a life or death situation, but in a simple and typical one. Even if it was short lived, i'm glad they were able to experience a warm home with so much enthusiasm and innocence. You could say this is the closest they ever got to experiencing a "childhood".
My only real complaint (there are some details here or there, but whatever) is that Cas isn't there at all and without explanation. I understand how it could complicate things, but at least mention him. And he should have definitely been there for Jack's birthday!! that would've made it perfect.

Finally, the real problem I had, and have been having for a long time: Mary. Ididn't think they could make her anymore unlikable.
When they first brought her back, I was worried how she would fit in, but was excited for the boys (especially Dean). Then I disliked her for constantly abandoning the boys, the "I need some time" and the whole MoL thing. But for a while I was like, ok maybe it's cool in a sense that IRL we long for someone/something and when we get it, it's not how we thought it would be. We all (boys and viewers) had expectations about Mary cause she was barely in their lives, and was presented as badass, but maternal, loving and (through John and Dean) almost a saint. So hey, I was down with it. But then she continued to put everything before her sons, she had no real development, there was no visible changes in the boys or their lives, and from being one of the best hunters (also wierd, but at least she had that), she became whatever, and a totally boring character.
The worst part is the acting wasn't even good. Like here, when instead of desperately shouting, you can barely hear her repeatedly say "jack, stop" in an almost flat tone. When Jack's finally done, she starts directly judging him (although she's done very questionable things too, like with MoL), even after him being visibly worried about what she's going to say. Now I do get that she wasn't mad about Jack killing him, rather then the form he did cause he was being cruel (I would of liked it a little longer or more visually stunning to cement his cruelty, but maybe that's just me), and that of course it's worrying cause it proves he's without his soul and impulsive and dangerous. But then she starts repeatedly telling him how he was wrong, and as a seasoned hunter not only failed to see the signs that she was in danger, but kept pushing him.
I mean, after asking him to take her home his answer is "I will. I will, just... tell me it's okay", that would've been enough to make me wary, but then he hits her with the "are you gonna tell them?" with that expression? yeah that's where you shut up, tell him he's right, and deal with it when you're in a safer place. Like come on, you know they are the most important people in his life (with Cass), and you are saying you are willing to do something that, in his head, would compromise that relationship and the way they look at him. And as if that is not enough, you're going to chase and badger him, when he's repeatedly telling you to leave him alone, stupidly failing again to see that he's in pain? Yeah, great plan irritating an already unstable Jack. That frustrated me beyond mesure, can't imagine him. They forget that soul or not, he's been here 2 years, without a childhood and normal interactions, of course he doesn't know how to deal with emotions, especially anger.
Anyway, from the way she was talking to the boys throughout the episode (like a farewell), I knew something would happen to her.
Now, that black screen and Jack whispering "Mary?"... chills!
Almost always, I say I'm gonna leave a comment later and never do (might still go back someday), so I'm sorry for this being absurdly long, but there's just too much I've been keeping in, lol.
Once again i'm debating with how I feel about this episode, cause I really liked it, and was excited about a lot of things. I really didn't know where Nick was going with all that, and found he's scheming good, and feeling once again that he's more disturbing than I can remember feeling Lucifer ever was. Also funny how it started with Dean playing mouse trap, and then all of it kind of being a real life one.
And the end with Jack, which was obvious where it was all going, but still liked it and think it's a plausible way for him to be the next big bad or next in line to save from himself (soulless, not knowing how to deal with things, and accidentally hurting someone so important to them, which apart from the obvious problems with the Winchesters, the guilt probably consuming him).
The problem I have is that everything good, happens out of either rushed and underdeveloped things, or them just acting stupid and out of character for the sake of the plot (I know it's been a long time thing). I mean I get sometimes it'll happen, and some dumb decisions I can just look away. But lately there's just been too many and too obvious.
First, Nick is now human but seems to be presented as equally dangerous as Lucifer, even physically. A long time ago Dean was supposed to be the best at torturing info out of anyone. I get he doesn't want to be that person, so might refrain (all though with a friend in danger, I'm not sure he would), but this last seasons it seems everyone can just take any torture without breaking. Also, they have Castiel who can literally force his way into his mind, to see where Donny is, and to know his plan (Again, I know they've been conveniently making him useless for a while now). The same could say with Jack, not only half-angel, but one of the most powerful beings in existence. Sure they could play longer with the "he's inexperienced and doesn't know how to use/control all his powers still" but that fact that he literally just stepped in to be head-butted and did nothing else. (Also I don't believe Dean would just let him go in on his own, just cause Nick said so). This is even worse, since he could have instantly gone to the boys when they figured the trap, instead of Mary just calling.
Then the boys, casually driving Nick around (who has escaped many times), with nothing but a pair of handcuffs. Just the two of them, knowing they're going to have to separate, after which Sam proceeds to step out of the car and take his eyes off of Nick. I do have to say, I did enjoy Dean fighting the demons. But after, Sam deciding NOT to kill Nick, like what? I know it wasn't about a moral thing, or not giving into his anger, since he hasn't actively been looking for revenge, his given him many chances, Nick's actively trying to kill them, and it wouldn't be the first time they take care of a human threat, also Sam literally says "not yet" moments before, knowing he has to be dealt with. After that, he gets hit in the head with a rock, and under other circumstances I'd be happy they take it seriously, but here... the heavily experienced hunter, who has fought through many severe injuries and getting constantly hit in the head before, forgets how to defend himself from a, again, beaten-up human!! And then the "we don't even want to move him" and "we're waiting for an ambulance", yeah, that's a convenient first too.
Now, i'm glad with how the whole Nick thing went on. I don't think it was necessary for him to be brought back, (especially cause I thought that the "deus ex machina - the blade didn't kill him" was going to be relevant for Michael), but I really found him interesting and was invested in his story. from his wanting "justice", to spiraling, to realizing he actually likes being sadistic, and wanting to bring Lucifer back to live without consequences. Although the last one was not really plausible, since how did they know how to do it so easily, even though nobody knew before about the empty (also why didn't the empty do anything about L being awake, but ok). But I enjoyed it, especially cause they didn't bring him back, and it was just a set up for Jack unravelling.
I love Jensen as Michael. He really improved. Not that he was bad the first time, but here it felt different, better and more natural. I really loved everything, the way he talked, his smoothness, his sarcastic comments, him being so unbothered by them, messing with their heads and insecurities, and the threat he made to Sam. Also when he got al serious, explaining his motive "even God can die". Jensen in general is amazing.
Also loved Dean with the "I'm the cage".
But whats up with that glaringly obvious dubbed voice of the vamp? just awful. I'm guessing he wasn't able to talk with the "fangs". IMO its not like they look good either, I don't know why they changed them, but just give them ones they can actually talk with.
I really loved seeing Dean and Jack bonding over simple things.
Nick is way more terrifying than Lucifer. It really felt eerie and disturbing. That's more like I imagined L would be, so it was great seeing it here.
I can't believe nobody has said anything about "when and angel/archangel leaves its vessel, some grace remains in the person"
I really liked the old but improved monster, and this ep i general was interesting for me.
But after the fight of the prev. season finale, which was so disappointing I don't get as excited as before, some simple things are even starting to make me mad. In this case, the Mary and Bobby combo. First the fact they are making them a thing, no thank you.
Then their scene with Bobby's "son". They are supposed to be great hunters, why would Mary shout "get away from him" instead of shooting.
Also Bobby was stabbed way too close to the heart with an angel blade, took it out, fell and tackled his son, all this barely bleeding (if at all) and fixed with some bandages. I get suspending belief, but this is too obvious.
And finally, I had a problem with this for a long time, but in this specific case, so we learn Alt Bobby had a completely different life, including a son (which drastically changes lives), but he's exactly the same Bobby as before, physically, emotionally, even same personality and expressions.

Took me a while to understand that Lucifer going through the vent was him going to cage.
Them getting caught like that is just plain stupid. Why would they just stay there instead of going with Kelly (the top priority rn), especially knowing special agents are waiting outside, it's obviously gonna look bad and he's the damn president! It's not in character with them, and Cas just leaving them there after seeing the agents going in isn't either. Unless it's part of a greater plan, cause if not, it's just lazy.
I also don't think there is a valid reason (other than needed for the plot) for why the president wouldn't remember at least making a deal with an angel or some supernatural being (probably didn't know it was Lucifer). L even says he didn't give him the usual "downtime" because he needed info.
This cain mark solution is smart, but seems way to easy and feels like they are just brushing it off for the story's sake. I mean, wouldn't they just look for a witch who could do a similar spell, but change it to just right before he got the mark? or how about Crowley? this seems like something the king of hell, or even crossroad demons could do (I bet a lot of people make deals to be younger).
Not sure if unpopular opinion, but I do like this fairytale twists, especially if they are going with the Grimm brother's versions (or alike) and are once in a while. I mean, Spn has alway been big on the lore, and a lot of people forget (or don't know) that those classic stories for children, were originally dark. So as long as they don't get too cheesy, or it feels way too much like OUAT (first time of oz was fine but enough), then good.
I think part of the problem was they did this one right after one with Oz.

Wait, so a few episodes before Dean is all "you're gonna kill again" but here he lets a couple of powerful, petty, unstable and vengeful witches live, just like that?!
I think this is the first time that I disliked Dean.
Besides, he already let some vampires live, and the whole demon blood Sam thing, so the "you are what you are" doesn't make sense.
Seriously? a single cut of the thorn?! it should've at least been made with his venom, since that's what's lethal, not his blood.
Also, I get that since TVD a lot of relationships have a problematic start or moment, but I feel they are really pushing it with Freya and Keelin, since K has been abducted, abused and treated like nothing for I don't know how long, and in what seems just a few days, she's falling for her. They should've changed the kidnapping part, or at least showed more of them bonding over time/things (like when they're making the weapon, which we see non of).

This is the 100th episode special, and there are things that I like, but it always makes me so mad.
Something I just found mildly annoying but makes no difference When Nadia buries Matt, they worry that he's without the ring, but it wouldn't make any difference since it wasn't a direct kill, like the hunter on the island.
Then with a guest appearance Klaus tells Caroline that he is there only to gloat, but it's hard to believe that after everything, (especially after I started watching The Originals) he just doesn't care about doing anymore hybrids, seeing as Katherine is a human doppelganger now. This could of easily fixed it just by mentioning that he figured out that the blood with the cure wouldn't work, or just him telling Care that he would even give that up for her, actually sacrificing more that just gloating.
More importantly, I refuse to believe that after everything everyone has been through with katherine, knowing how conniving, dangerous and jealous of elena she is, and how protective they are, they would ALL just leave elena alone with her, not even listening from afar to make sure. Also, that Elena knowing everyone close is downstairs, would just pick up the phone with out looking at who's calling, but that at least you can think it's because she's desoriented
And finally, the thing that really makes me angry is that Bonnie is the anchor to the other side, how the hell would she not notice that Katherine didn't die, especially since she saw her moments before. And I don't know if this counts as a spoiler for the next ep, cause it's from the same thing and you find out in the beggining but at first after thinking it a bit, I was like hey, maybe next ep she brings it up or something, but NO! nothing is said about that
Anyway, rant over hahaha
If you're intrested in watching The Originals and want to kinda follow the chronological order, or like remembering details (I started rewatching TVD from S3 because of this), you can start from here and intertwine them. Watch one episode of TVD and one of TO, or even watch a few of one before changing to the other.
Although I have to say that it's really not necessary, since they each follow their own stories and don't crossover in any major way, and it's mostly about mentions, at least for S1, so maybe it's more of a quirk hahaha.
So I haven't really been excited since Mike left, it just got way too repetitive, especially how they just don't care about doing illegal things, and it becoming public knowledge. There have been moments I've enjoyed, and I don't think it's been terrible, but I officially lost interest. Good thing there are just a few episodes left.
Interesting, but I didn't like that [spoiler] the patient appears to reflect emotions and things that the others are in denial of, but with house he just mimics him. [spoiler]

I thought it was great... except the end. That was so unnecessary and frustrating that I actually groaned, although I guess I've been doing that a lot lately, since like season 3 or 4 (watching w/o having to wait for new seasons)
Still liked The intouchables more, but I think it was a good remake and I always love seeing Bryan Cranston and Nicole Kidman
The sword fight could've been better but I liked the episode.

I'm easily entertained, like clichés and was looking forward to seeing some romance (even if it was average) but this was disappointing and frustrating. The story was bad, the romance was awful with no excitment at all, they tried to make them so "intellectual" all the time and I didn't like the acting.
Once more, they took out almost all the excitment of the "big" revelation. Oh and... Daddy issues much?
Also, remember how b.h. wanted betty "aaall for himself"? Yeah that's not cringy at all
I usually like musicals but this was bad, I just wanted it to end. Didn't really like the songs, the voices sounded so overproduced, and the dancing was meh (well at least archie made me laugh with his moves). Only a few moments were actually worth seeing.
Btw, When ethel says she wouldn't threaten anyone and later on, that she knows what it looks like but the cutouts were for her board... weren't Kevin, Jug and Betty supposed to be the only ones who knew about the letters?
